Milennials driving a nationwide houseplant boom.

The reason this is an interesting story to me is that my daughter is houseplant crazy, has her own Etsy Store and also a facebook page devoted to her plants.

Paige's Tiny Plants has achieved surprising success in a very short period of time. She mails out plants every day, has two mini greenhouses in her house where she grows the tiny plants for sale and shipment, and has a healthy following of folks now, some of whom will ask her to grow specific plants at an additional cost. Paige's Tiny Plants Etsy Shop has become a thriving small business for her. She stays SO busy, with three young children that she homeschools, managing her household, her couponing, her plant business and her involvement with the Montessori school that her kids attend a couple days a week as part of their homeschool enrichment program.

I'm just really proud of her. 😍 Can you tell? ;)

Probably using them to hide other plants in the home....

Kudos for the entrepreneur in the family
.

Thanks! Of my 5 kids I actually have 3 entrepreneurs.. my daughter, and two sons as well who’ve done their own thing. But then again so have I...so maybe it’s not so surprising.

As for your first comment, well I never even thought of that!! 😂

@Ronni - thanks for the great idea on how to round out my Christmas gifts for our DILs!
Cool!!

Paige is planning to put the shop in vacation mode over Christmas, so if you want to order you should do it right away. Also if you want the plant(s) to arrive for Christmas you might want to upgrade your shipping to priority.

Huh. I asked my daughter about this, because I know she ships nationwide. Here’s her response

“They can, they just have to be bare root but even if they’re not, the ag center will just inspect it and send it along. I send plants to CA all the time and only once have I gotten a call from the ag center and he just asked for permission to open the box for a quick peek before delivering.”

Not telling you this to encourage you to order from her, just so we’re clear. 😍 I just wanted you to know for your own information.

Very good to know @Ronni! Thanks for the info. Our Ag Dept. online info is unclear at best. We deal with Ag border stops every time we return from another state. Since I've never responded "yes" to the question of whether I was bringing in fruits, veggies, plants or ag matter, I guess I always assumed that they were verboten.
