A lovely Christmas surprise!

So last summer, the kid up the block (14 year old boy) came around offering to mow our lawn, and I asked him if he would mow our lawn for us when we were on vacation. And he did. Then our lawn mower was on the fritz, and he stepped in. He did a great job. I always paid him $5 more than he asked, because he asked too little, IMO, and he earned it. And I'd give him a Gatorade because I didn't want him passing him out on my front lawn in the Texas heat. Such a nice boy. So today, Christmas day, he shows up at our front door with a card, and an expectant look on his face. I was a teacher, and I know that look! So I open the card, and it's a gift card to Chili's! It was unexpected, for sure. So sweet!! His parents have done a great job in raising him. Bless him!

Wow, that was nice. I gave our lawn crew cards with money inside because I realize their business is slow in December and they probably need it.
