When Walking Tonight I Was Pleasantly Surprised~

For the past 2 or 3 days while walking my dog at night I've seen this man walking his dog at the apt. complex. I don't stare at people so I didn't get a good look at him and he was wearing a hat and winter coat, as was I. He was walking this long haired corgi. I was thinking to myself, it's another corgi- something like the one that used to live here with that couple many years ago. Didn't really give it a lot of thought.

So I was out tonight walking Suzy, and the same man came walking up to us with his dog and asked if my dog was friendly. I said pretty much so, yes. And Suzy got all excited and sniffed the corgi and then went into her playing antics. She hasn't been so excited in a long time! Then the man and I started talking and asked me what my dogs name was. I told him then all of a sudden it dawned on me that he was the man that used to live at our apt. complex several years ago. At the same time he realized who I was, too.

I said you're back! And he kind of resignedly said yes we're back. And then I said and that's Milo (his dog)! His dog's coat was longer and I'd never seen him with a long coat for he had always had it cut short.

This is one of the persons I used to chat with and be at parties (we have parties here) with outside regularly years ago and Suzy just loved Milo his dog. All the female dogs had a crush on Milo! And so did Suzy. She is so happy he's back and my friend is back, too!

I'm happy mostly for Suzy, her little play buddy is back! And she is thrilled, too!

Here is a picture of a random long haired Corgi--

That is great Ruthanne, so cool! Someone returned who you enjoyed chatting with and your doggie likes his! I don't know why he left and returned but it's nice that he did. I don't think I've ever seen a long-haired Corgi, very sweet! I've liked all the Corgis I met over the years at the park, they all seem friendly and well behaved. Hope you and Suzy get to see more of him, and I hope he sticks around this time. :)

Aw, I am disappointed, I was waiting for a romantic story. I thought maybe his wife died and he came back to live there and you two would end up having a good relationship/romance. Well, at least Suzy got HER boyfriend back!

Now I'm curious, why did he ''And he kind of resignedly said yes we're back" He's not happy living there again? What's the story here?

Thanks. He had moved out west. I hope he and Milo will be here for a long time, yes!🤗

I had noticed his tone but don't know why he had it as he didn't explain anything about why he is back. I will update you if I learn anything 🤗

Long haired corgi's are called"fluffs". They are not seen in the show ring but they are every bit a corgi. As they sell for less than do the short hairs they make wonderful and more affordable pets.
This particular Corgi had always been groomed short years ago so I never knew it was longer.

Yet wouldn't all Corgis be considered long hair as a breed? Didn't know and don't understand how a breed can have naturally long haired and naturally short haired....

I believe the Queen loves corgis, she was given one as a gift when young and then bred them but now has stopped breeding them. I don't know if I've ever seen one. My favorite breeds are the long snout wolf types, like Shepherds, Retrievers, Malamutes, Collies etc.

You can get both short and long hair corgis in the same litter. Short hair is dominant but long hair is common. Same with the tail. short tail is dominant but you can get both short and long tails in the same litter. I am speaking here of the Pembrokshire Corgi. The Cardigans all have long tails but the hair length can vary.

Wow, didn't know that. Thanks for educating me on Corgis! (y) :giggle:
