Coping with Dry January

I just heard about this for the first time yesterday,so too late for me lol. But I have only had maybe 2 glasses of wine and 2 Margaritas so far this month,so not too bad.

I don’t really see the point of dry January, rarely drink alcohol anyway but was given a bottle of Baileys, salted caramel for Christmas and enjoy a small glass of that each evening
I no longer drink, but my, that sounds delicious!

I eat and drink what I like and as long as it's not overdone, I'm fine with it. I drink about 6oz of cheap red Gallo Sangria wine every night with my dinner, do it for supposedly keeping my arteries unclogged (that's what they claim, anyway). What I have cut down on, not given up, is eating too much cheese and too much nuts and too much bread.

I enjoy wine, a bit of cheese and sausage while reading. I also enjoy a glass or two of wine while playing chess.

I love parmesan and swiss cheese the best, but love ALL cheese. I'm not a wine lover, just do it for the ''arteries" reason. I used to love sausage before I became a vegetarian 35 years ago, my mother made her own sausages. What is your favorite wine? I just buy Gallo, I can't see spending a lot of money on any food since it's only temporary in the body. I am very pragmatic in my choices and philosophies.

My favorite wine is Hess Select cabernet sauvignon.

I have two or three drinks a year and rarely finish them but I have lots of good memories!

I truly hate wine and never drink it. My tipple of choice is either a good single malt scotch or a quality Kentucky Bourbon.

I got all of my serious drinking done during my years in the US Navy and will currently go for weeks without a snort of any sort of snakebite medicine.

But, if I like something, I am not inclined to arbitrarily forego the enjoyment it provides. For me this is true of sipping a wee dram or firing up one of my beloved briar pipes. Moderation is the key.

Mrs Manatee and I both take meds that are not compatible with booze. I tell folks that the doctor will spank us if we drink.

I did diligently consume my share when I was younger.
