Thank you for providing a mostly politics-free forum. US news coverage is turning into soul-sucking, all partisan politics all the time, so this rare safe haven is greatly appreciated. While some of us (myself included) occasionally flirt with that third rail, you quickly warn us not to tarry there.

Thanks everyone for your understanding and support! It's easier for all of us without politics, even for those who enjoy political discussions, an intensive debate can cause bad feelings and are not good for our health. We are here for companionship, comfort, joy and laugh.

Any time politics enters the discussion, the discussion goes downhill fast. Thanks, Matrix, for the reprieve. There are plenty of other forums for discussing politics.

I just left a forum that was mostly politics. Other posters who left before I did left for the reason that once politics takes over there is little room for anything else. And the political posters sure know how to keep an argument going. The forum just gets flooded with political post after political post and who wants to scroll through all that. Other posts just kept getting buried which frustrated other members not into politics and one by one they left, including me.

I am much happier here.

Yesterday, I made the mistake on posting a political picture on Facebook. The nasty, foul replies I received were terrible. I took my post off after about a day of this crap.

Point is: this forum is the best and the only one, besides a Florida gun forum I use once in a while.

@Wren, you can do the photo competition like you started, I think your post might have just been removed because it was in all capital letters, which is considered shouting on the internet and not allowed here.
