At the age you are now, what would you tell your younger self (the little girl/boy)?

When you are 28 or so and living in Manhattan...and you hear about people living in rental buildings that are being turned into co-ops...and how those people buy co-ops at "insider" prices and then "flip" them to outsiders...go ahead and buy one as an outsider. Beg, steal or borrow the money.

One bedroom apartments that sold for $65,000 in the late 1970s now sell for $1 million.

Of course, you could have done better by buying Berkshire Hathaway shares, or jumping in on the Apple or Microsoft IPOs.
 

I would have told my younger self to a) work harder and b) to do more to help people.

I can't do much now about a) but I am looking for ways to do b) with the time I have left.
 
Get a good education, which is high school and college, so later, a nice paying job will come along. If you join a Service, go for the Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard. The Army and Marines are tough!! I thank myself everyday that I joined the Navy. Try to meet the right woman or man. When it comes to having a family, be with them and have fun. Don't let a job interfere with family! A good paying job is nice, but being with your family is absolutely necessary.
 
You're smarter, stronger, and better looking than you think you are. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Anything. Don't be afraid to fail, and if you do (and you will) get back up and give it another go. Ask for help. Your parents are selfish and self absorbed and not worth your tears. You can do it!

Some old geezers have a LOT of wisdom. My mom was one of them. My daughter is 27 and she has listened to her mom and dad. However she has made and will continue to make mistakes and find her way... nothing like old Geezers.. they are priceless.
