Around here, we get lots of TV ads for a brand called LeafGuard....which supposedly allows any debris to be washed over the gutters, while allowing the water to drain into the gutters. Fat Chance! If it's raining hard enough to wash the leaves and twigs over the edge, you can bet that 90% of the water will also flow right over the gutters, as if they weren't there. A couple of years ago, I checked the prices for these gutters, and the cost was over $6000. This last Fall, I bought 4 rolls of "Frost King" guards, from Menard's....$2.60 for a 20 ft roll, and installed them on my workshop. So far, they are doing quite well, and I plan to buy another 10 or 12 rolls, and do the gutters on the house, sometime this Summer. The independent reviews on the Internet show most of these high dollar gutter guards to be a waste of money.
