Free Gutters?

A gutter business is sending emails saying they will install rain gutters if you buy the gutter guards. Well now, who knows what thay charge for the guards or how much the gutters cost. If the gutters would cost $1500 to install, what keeps them from charging that for the guards and just SAYING the gutters are free?

I would ask for a written quote for everything before working with them. And also get a turnaround time this can be very tricky....šŸ˜…

Businesses are designed to make money, not lose it. If you need new gutters, I'd recommend going to an established company in your area that either you or your neighbors have found to be fair, reasonable, professional, and performed the work expected at the price expected.

Lots of old adages apply here, Deb:
You can't cheat an honest man.
You get what you pay for.
You can't get something for nothing.

Around here, we get lots of TV ads for a brand called LeafGuard....which supposedly allows any debris to be washed over the gutters, while allowing the water to drain into the gutters. Fat Chance! If it's raining hard enough to wash the leaves and twigs over the edge, you can bet that 90% of the water will also flow right over the gutters, as if they weren't there. A couple of years ago, I checked the prices for these gutters, and the cost was over $6000. This last Fall, I bought 4 rolls of "Frost King" guards, from Menard's....$2.60 for a 20 ft roll, and installed them on my workshop. So far, they are doing quite well, and I plan to buy another 10 or 12 rolls, and do the gutters on the house, sometime this Summer. The independent reviews on the Internet show most of these high dollar gutter guards to be a waste of money.
