Best Go-Togethers?

There are just some things that are MEANT to go together.

I can never eat sushi without a beer...asahi beer to be precise. Same goes for pizza. Pizza and Beer are a natural combination.

If I'm going to binge on chocolate...a chocolate candy bar that is, it just doesn't taste right without an ice cold glass of milk.

On the other hand, if I want to eat chocolate cake, then the BEST pairing for that imho is black coffee...which is weird, because at any other time I ALWAYS drink my coffee light with sweetener.

If I'm sitting in front of a crackling fire, nothing quite beats a glass of red wine....unless I've just come in from a snowball fight with the grands, in which case it HAS to be hot chocolate!

There are so many other pairings that I can think of, but I'll stop and give y'all a chance. What are YOUR best go-togethers?

Can't go wrong with dark chocolate, wine, fire and the desire of your heart. đź’• Did I mention wine?

Well, for awhile there, while bumming around the country in my youth, it was peanut butter on bread with MD 20/20

Now? It's pancakes and black coffee
or, a good hamburger in an old fashioned café.....with coffee

on occasion, pepperoni pizza and a pitcher of beer...preferably MICHELOB AMBERBOCK

Fine dining?
afterward, a small but decadent sweet.....with brandy.....the trifecta would be a good cigar

several large wheat rolls, not sliced wheat bread, and an empty belly

Anybody considered a plate of cranberry sauce with two side orders of cranberry. They go together, yes they do.

I get confused when spreads have turkey and cranberry sauce, I have as much cranberry souse as turkey.
It is my one vice, regarding real sugar.

I wonder if anyone notices, 'Hey that's the 4th time you returned for cranberry sauce, it's a condiment, not a side dish.'
'Hush fell'a it is the main dish.'

Sounds mad but regardless of what the weather is doing outside , if I go swimming , I always feel the urge to eat hot chips (fries)... and a cold drink as soon as I come out of the pool...

Throwback to my childhood...

I have to respectfully disagree on the pizza and beer thing. To me, beer destroys the taste of pizza, as well as most other foods, with the exception of Mexican. Tacos especially. To me, tacos and beer were made for each other. With pizza, it has to be Coke.

And since we're talking about beer and you also mentioned chocolate, here's something that will sound weird, but try it.... chocolate candy chased with a nice cold beer. They go great together. The chocolate fills your mouth with it's sweet, warm, melty deliciousness, then the crisp, cold, carbonated beer comes along, cuts right through it and washes it away.

Here's another odd combo that I was surprised to find out I'm not the only one who enjoys.... peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches. Cut a dill pickle (not one of those super salty, garlic deli pickles, just a regular old kosher dill) in half lengthwise. Put peanut butter on half of a slice of bread. Put the pickle half on it, fold it over like a hot dog and enjoy.

Speaking of hot dogs.... hot dogs and French fries/tater tots. No potato chips!!!! Gotta be fries or tots.

Doritos and Coke are a great combo, too.

Soft, hot pretzels and mustard.

Hummmmm, a woman smoking a cigar? I think I've seen this once. I've also met some woman who used smokeless tobacco, as in Copenhagen or even Red Man Chew. I seen one lady, on her horse, working at a livestock yard, pull out a can of Copenhagen and get a pinch. Didn't bother me at all.

As far as wine with anything, I'm definitely not a wine connoisseur. Heck, when I was single/divorced for 21 years, I would never think of dating a gal that drank wine. That is, unless it was Boones Farm Strawberry Hill (LOL). Generally women who drank wine were way out of my financial category.

Chips (fries) and Mayo.... now I know that sounds gross to some people, it did to me when I first had them in France and Belgium... *ugh* I thought how horrible...but actually it's delicious, so for many years, I've never had ketchup on my fries only ever have mayo on the side to dip them in...
