Which Do You Prefer, Real Or Fake

If it's ice cream for me it has to be the real stuff, show me a fat free version that actually tastes good and I might change my mind. Same thing with cheese.

Also prefer real houseplants instead of silk fake ones but do have a wreath made with fake flowers.

I eat many different vegan cheeses, and a few vegan ice creams. All are quite tasty, with good mouth feels. As a gourmet, vegan chef, I have an excellent internal data base concerning what's good, and what tastes "fake." No problems with those vegan versions.

As for flowers, I prefer Nature's creations over silk or plastic, but we have a few, excellent, silk and plastic arrangements around the house. They were pricey, but have stood the test of time, some fifteen years, now.

Soooooo Good makes an incredible dairy free ice cream and since I’m dairy intolerant I’ll pick that anyday over the real stuff- salted caramel 🥰

Real house plants

Real cannabis ☺️.... I don’t wanna even try that fake crap 😏

Faux fur as I prefer the real stuff to stay on the animals

Real hair, nails, eyelashes and body parts as opposed to fake 😅🥺

Real personality as opposed to a pretentious one

Real money 💰 as opposed to monopoly

Real Christmas tree instead of artificial

Real swearing as opposed to poo poo words 🤣

Real kayak , not the inflatable kind

Real snow , not the fake kind

Real fire 🔥.... not those fake flames

Note: I could go on & on and would but I have other things to do now 🙏 like get out of bed 😂

I agree that some non-dairy ice creams are excellent.

Unlike @treeguy64, I have yet to find a non-dairy cheese that melts well, but my quest continues.

Real candy: sugar free candies and chocolate are usually dreadful.

I mostly drink (fake) decaf coffee and herbal teas or I get (real) heart palpitations and (real) insomnia.

Real dinner ware. I seriously dislike plastic utensils, paper plates and plastic glasses. Don't get me started on Styrofoam. Ugh...

Real, freshly popped popcorn, not the microwaved stuff that's bathed in chemicals.

Great ones. I had no idea about the fake coffees.
Thanks sooo much for this info. I hadn’t even considered it. A while back my husband switched from real coffee to the fake freezed dried stuff. He says he likes it better BUT........ he has insomnia real bad and we can’t figure out why.
See.... another thing we have in common.
You’re awesome Starsong. ❤️
Thank you🙏👍

I totally agree. Did you ever notice how they play up healthy or fake foods? They say have a nice crisp juicy apple or how about a bag of tasty, crisp veggie snacks. You don't hear that when they talk about potato chips. You just know they are going to be good. No hype needed.

I can't eat real ice cream, but I make a mean coconut milk version with an ice cream maker.
I prefer simple, whole foods rather than highly processed foods. They're more reasonably priced, too.

Live plants are very nice, but they do take a lot of care. I had a sunroom that was full of large live plants. They had to be watered, fertilized, pruned, checked for mold, and de bugged constantly. One day I was swatting flies and got in between a large schefflera bush and the window. That night I developed a nasty, itchy rash on my arms and face, everywhere the plant touched.
I found out that it is as poisonous to some people as poison ivy/oak. This is a popular plant that florists and garden center sell. All the schefflera plants and trees had to go.

Since I don't have a strong interest in caring for plants, I decided not to replace the ones that didn't survive winter. Some were set free in the woods to make it on their own. There are two real plants in there now~an aloe and an ivy. There are silk plants/trees in my sun room now that give the effect, without the bother.

My daughter in law is allergic to flowers and evergreens. When she comes over, the live plants and flowers have to be relocated. A real Christmas tree or wreath is not an option. Quality artificial substitutes have to do.

Just as with artificial sweeteners vs. sugar, I wouldn't eat fat-free ice cream or any modified food. I prefer to eat less of something that may not be healthy, rather than eat more of a modified or artificial version. I'd be concerned about the substitute ingredients that are needed to make fat-free ice cream taste & feel like regular ice cream - extra sugar, chemical thickeners, etc.

I like all my food real, but I do have some wreathes with fake flowers n a few cactus that feel like rubber but look so real!

Plain vanilla ice cream comes to life when you put caramel syrup on it.

The man on the cruise ship told us that iguana tastes just like chicken.

In 1970 the Doctor told me to stop drinking coffee, it was irritating my gizzard. Not had any since.

Follow Your Heart vegan cheeses melt just fine, and taste great. I use them for pizza, spaghetti sauces, grilled cheese, etc.20200213_165713.jpg
