Looking forward to meeting new people

I just came across this forum while looking for ways to meet people other than dating websites. After being a sole caregiver for 3 years, I find I'm totally out of the loop socially.

Nice to meet you as well Ina. Believe it or not, I haven't spoken in anyone new in so long, I'm actually nervous. I'm going to walk my dog Chloe right now. I'll be back in a little bit.
 
That was a pleasant walk with my pooch. Have you ever seen a dog in a stroller? The crazy lady pushing the stroller? Yeah, that would be me.
 
Shamhat, What are your plans now that you no longer are a care giver?
It is a very difficult to care for people. I moved my father into our family home, he was bed ridden and on oxygen, and I cared for him his last 5 years.
So I know how tired you are, and I know how isolated you become being a care giver.
So take a long break, and maybe we can cheer you up. I'm a Texas gal. :hatoff:

Chloe oe is my constant companion. When she gets tired ow walking, she just hops into the stroller. She's only 7, but her back legs buckle a little.

My my husband has COPD, diabetes and other health issues. He's with his daughter now because he got too mean to me and my animals. Honestly, I didn't realize how my own quality of life was declining. I used to be a social butterfly! That's okay. The first step to correcting a situation is realization.
 
I am still trying to figure things out here. I'm not forum savvy. I must say that the warm welcome I have received is a cherished gift. Thank you all so much. Is anyone watching Cedar Cove?
 
Good Morning Ralphy1, the first chat room I visited (a senior chat room) was pretty raunchy. This forum has a clean open format which is nice.

It seems that the hot my weather reprieve is over here in Virginia. Still I feel like taking a nice long walk today. Wishing all a good day. :)

...Maybe I should have looked outdoors or listened to the weather report before making those plans. Oh well, I love a rainy day from the inside looking out.
 
Good morning Shamhat, I hope you enjoy your daily walk. In the heat of the day, I like check out my friends on this forum. Sometimes I join in, other days I'll just drop a line or two, and then there are days my fingers just want to play. :wave:
 
Welcome Shamhat. I'm a newly here myself. Great pic of you & your little fur ball. We have one of those...he's a ten year old cocker named Deuce. He got his name because he's our second cocker. He lets us live in HIS house, if you know what I mean. :D
