What happened where you live?

Well....Rhode Island is the smallest state in the US. In colonial times it was the meeting place for pirates. It was also the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

We have over 400 Villages, we also have some villagers inside other villagers. It’s been said we are run by the Mafia ?? If that’s so we really need are streets repaired!
@Lvstotrvl , I've visited Westerly RI several times on my friend's boat at the yacht club. I like it very much. Also Misquamicut State Beach !

Battle of San Jacinto, decisive battle of the Texas Revolution, 1836.

The Battle of San Jacinto (Spanish: Batalla de San Jacinto), fought on April 21, 1836, in present-day Harris County, Texas, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. Led by General Sam Houston, the Texian Army engaged and defeated General Antonio López de Santa Anna's Mexican army in a fight that lasted just 18 minutes. A detailed, first-hand account of the battle was written by General Houston from Headquarters of the Texian Army, San Jacinto, on April 25, 1836.

As for my hometown, New Orleans, well, too darned much to write here!

The major town nearest me, Chambersburg, was briefly seized by the Confederates during the Civil War, and they tried to hold it for ransom. When the ransom was refused to be paid, the Confederates burned key parts of the town, an event still commemorated annually...

The only woman to be executed in South Australia lived in the same tiny town where I live
I’ve learned allot about this women since moving to the area , how mock trials have been carried out in recent times and each time she has been found NOT guilty of the crime of poisoning her husband

There is also a book written about her called Dead Women Walking .

This is Elizabeth Woolcock's own tragic story, and a significant part of Australian history. And though she died the death of a felon, the truth is she may well have been the innocent victim of circumstance."--Provided by publisher.
