Effective Substitute For Aloe Vera And Rubbing Alcohol

In the 60s we used a mixture of iodine & baby oil mixture for tanning outdoors. So I went on line to find a substitute for the rubbing alcohol & aloe. I found one site that said use coconut oil as a substitute for the aloe and grain alcohol as a substitute for the rubbing alcohol. I'm guessing the coconut oil is not thicker than baby oil so I'll use either one. I'm tired of looking for the aloe & rubbing alcohol.

Even grain alcohol is hard to find now. The only alcohol I can seem to find is Beer! Will that work?šŸ˜‚
 

I haven't found any rubbing alcohol anywhere. When I asked the grocery clerk just day before yesterday, she just laughed- said it was all gone weeks ago. Of course the ABC store is open.

I've watched too many old westerns I know. Didn't they just pour liquor on the wound to pull out the bullet?

Oh yeah, liquor on the inside for anesthesia and on the outside for disinfectant and a shot of liquor to steady the doctor's hands. Then everyone had a stiff drink at the saloon either to celebrate the survival of the patient or to get through the wake......
