Do people still chew gum?

I was watching some old shows of Dick Clark's American Bandstand. When the camera scanned the audience every kid seemed to have a wad of gum in their mouth.
I remember chewing a lot of gum when I was a kid. I haven't chewed in years and haven't seen people chewing lately.
Remember the song,"Does Your Chewing Gum lose its Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight?" A big hit in the late 50's.
My Dad said when he was a kid they would chew the tar from the roads that got soft from the summer heat. I never tried it.
My uncle would tell me never to chew gum it was made from horses hooves.
My favorite was Juicy Fruit and of course Bubble Gum. My Dad liked Black Jack and my Mom would chew Wrigley's Spearmint.
Did you chew gum? What was your favorite?

Did and still do. I like Extra and Stride, but only spearmint.
Dentist told me to chew gum with Xylitol.

There is still plenty on sale, so obviously it's still popular. It's a good habit, helps to clean your teeth when you're away from home, helps to keep your breath fresh, and stops your jaw from seizing up with tension.

I liked the gums mentioned, and I liked dentyne. Gave up gums decades ago, and am still looking for a group Mentos Anonymous, as I find this habit real hard to quit.

I used to chew Trident , but that was more recently as an adult.. very strong helps if you have sinus problems which I don't...

When I was a kid I wasn't allowed bubble gum , if I had gum at all, we were only allowed Beech-nut chewing gum..it didn't make big bubbles as good as the pink bubble gum ...I haven't seen beechnut in donkeys years tho'... ..

I always used to like PK..., (anyone remember those tiny packets)

Funny ... I'm chewing gum as I starting reading this post. I have Orbit/wintermint on hand at the moment, and chew gum all the time.

I've always chewed gum, but not obsessively. My favorite teacher used to tell us that people chewing gum reminded her of cows chewing their wad. One day I saw myself in the mirror while chewing gum and I instantly remembered what my teacher said. Since then I only chew gum when no one can see me. I still like it, it refreshes my mouth.

I was a gumaholic as a kid.
But now, after 30 crowns & 2 bridges, I'm not going to use up the crowns' lives on gum. That would speed up the time for replacement - at $1,350 each.

I do. I love Doublemint and sometimes for a kick I’ll buy Bazooka or Double Bubble and have fun blowing bubbles. I can still be a bit of a child sometimes.

Double Bubble was my favorite I never liked Bazooka. Don't recall the name of the hot cinnamon gum but I liked that as well. I still chew Dentyne Ice everyday.

Now I hardly chew gum....I mostly have cough drops...

I think it was Bazooka that had comics, not Double Bubble. Then there was the kind that came with baseball cards. Didn't like that gum, but liked the cards.

I'm a long time fan of Trident gum,I esp like spearmint,peppermint,the bubble gum isn't bad,I can blow bubbles,it doesn't last long

I like chewing gum but don't often buy it. I have to get Trident sugar free and that's the only one I can chew. Haven't had any in a long time.

I guess you are gum chewer, or you never were. It's a DNA thing. I never was. It seemed like a lot of work, with little reward.
