Even before this virus, I thought it was disgusting how how people kissed the same stone, photo, statue, one person after another in short succession. I wonder how many germs and diseases have been spread that way.

ADDED = And the Pope's hand. I bet he stopped that practice now.

We can't go nuts the opposite way either. If we do, we're not building up natural immunity. That could be more deadly. Have to toughen up & face this dirty world. No escape. There are allergies today that have become common, i.e. peanuts, whereas in prior generations this was basically unheard of.

I think it's because our immune systems are not what they used to be. I have my theories about that.

Would you share? I've also wondered why there's so many people with all kinds of allergies. I have a young friend who has a full list of all kinds of allergies, I would hate to be in her position. I have seasonal allergies, lots of sneezing and runny nose in spring and fall.
