They've had to stop filming the 10th series..until further notice..along with several other TV shows here... we're looking at probably another at least 2 months before a return to filming...

My little 4-year-old grand is absolutely fascinated with it. She'll ask if we can watch "the baby show". She asks very intelligent questions throughout the show.

I watched it from the beginning, thought it was well written with a good cast.The only actress I recognized was Jenny Augutter who plays the head nun.I think it was after Season 3 when actress,Jennifer Raines who had the lead role left the show.The producers hired other actresses with new storylines but my interested started to wane.I haven't watched it in a couple of yrs

I loved it, but then I loved the book series which I read first. I haven't seen the most recent seasons as I don't have a t.v. and rely on getting the DVDs from the library.
As usual, I liked the books better than the series since they changed some things from the book in the t.v. series - most notably, the information about the work houses.

I've watched a few episodes; thought they were well acted and enjoyed the repartee between the nurses and the nuns (Nurse Crane is a favorite, she has some of the best lines, delivered with near-Maggie Smith acerbic wit =P). But as a home-visiting nurse myself (though I've never delivered babies) some of the situations they walk into are just a *little* too close to what I've experienced, so it can be uncomfortable to watch.
