If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future?

Give this some serious thought. Would you rather go way in the future or way in the past, or back in your own lifetime? Life is FOR THE MOST PART pretetermined so you were asked by Zulu not to try to change anything, but of course you have your own free will. What would you do?

I've been in the past..it's a foreign country of which I don't want to revist again... so I'll travel into the future and hope the world is a much better place...

My young years, 1948 and 1952, then 1959-1962 my good years, the years in between, don't want to go to them.

I think we would all like to fast forward until this virus is either
cured or disappears.

I don't know. I kind of understand what happened in the past. But memory is a crummy thing, it seldom recalls the truth. When we were living through the second grade, it may not be the warm, cozy place we remember it. And really, human life doesn't change. We are basically the same as when we wore animal skins. What has changed is our customs, beliefs, and the ability to make our lives easier. I lean more goin to the future, so I can find out how the story ends. Will we find real space aliens? Who will be our next President/leader? What scientific stuff will we find out? Dark matter, and all those things I don't understand. I'd go to the future to complete my life here.

That is an in depth really thoughtfully planned out answer! Wow! I'm impressed!

I would go to the past and witness history.

First, I'd go back to the time and place of Jesus just to see what he really looked and sounded like and what made him so popular.

Next, I'd go back to the time of Shakespeare. Same thing. Just to see him and hear his voice.

Then I'd go back to the late 50's to watch the Beatles playing The Cavern Club in Liverpool and the Indra Club in Hamburg.

Next I'd go to the early 60's to watch Bob Dylan play at Gerde's Folk City in Greenwich Village.

Maybe jump a couple of years ahead to 1964 to witness some of the circus surrounding Andy Warhol at The Factory .

Then maybe to August 1969 and Woodstock.

Finally, back to my college years to relive a few of the more memorable fun times I had with various girlfriends and roommates.

well most of that you can now see in the present on the magic box of Youtube... ;)

The future. I already know what happened. I want to know what’s going to happen say 100 years from now.
BTW, I wouldn’t go across the street to see the Beatles.

Me neither... ( maybe George Harrison (when he was solo) but not the Beatles)

Like them or not, they were one of the most influential and historically significant social phenomenons of the 20th century. That alone would make it worth he effort IMO.

Besides the fact that they were awesomely talented.

And seeing them before they were famous when they were still doing real rock-n-roll in small nightclub settings, would be an amazing experience.

To me, anyway.

Not disputing they were talented, songwriters. but I didn't like them as a band, ....I'm entitled to like or dislike someone's music...

Yeahhhhh, but....... not exactly the same thing, is it?

Like the difference between eating a nice meal and watching a video of other people eating one. ;)
well not true...really, because unlike watching other people eating..you are actually getting to see the ''food and eat it'' ( watch and listen at the same time).. and the only thing missing is the atmosphere... :D..and at the age I'm at now I'd rather watch on a screen than have my ears blasted at a live concert...

The future. I want to know what we will discover next. Will we ever find another planet with life similar to us. There's a whole universe out there. Look at the changes made here in the last few hundred years. I wonder what we'll come up with in the next few hundred (or thousand) years. I wanna know.
