The wife hasn't liked the replacement island we made after the renters destroyed the original.
We made a new one, but, it turned out to be too small.
So, we got another piece of MDF 3/4" and made a new top. Really not too difficult. First, cut to size, then cover with a base paint. Next, add your own design with rustoleum paint. When happy with the design, tape the edge and pour clear urethane on and be sure to let it set for at least a week before trying to use the counter.
I'm still waiting on my flooring order (wife is chomping at the bit because the current floor looks horrible) and my dishwasher hookup kit. After I get those, I'll build some shelves under the island top.
