Woo hoo, some progress in the kitchen

Remember when... thirty seemed so old.
The wife hasn't liked the replacement island we made after the renters destroyed the original. We made a new one, but, it turned out to be too small.
So, we got another piece of MDF 3/4" and made a new top. Really not too difficult. First, cut to size, then cover with a base paint. Next, add your own design with rustoleum paint. When happy with the design, tape the edge and pour clear urethane on and be sure to let it set for at least a week before trying to use the counter. (y) I'm still waiting on my flooring order (wife is chomping at the bit because the current floor looks horrible) and my dishwasher hookup kit. After I get those, I'll build some shelves under the island top.

Ho Lee Crap!
I didn't know MDF could look so good

Now that we've moved back to the cabin (tiny kitchen) I won't show my wife these pics.

Well done, Dawg

Thank you. 🙂 Urethane'd pieces of MDF also make great window sill's. We have them on all 22 windows in our house, color coded for each room color. For example, these are the nine windows in the sun room. 14 years of abuse and counting. (y)

Finally got the dishwasher installed and built an end wall for it. Also knocked down a couple of large tree's for next years firewood. Also got my last 2 battery maintainers that have been delayed because of this virus crap. Now, 7 of my vehicles have maintainers. (y)
Still waiting for the rest of my kitchen flooring. :(
