Cigarette and Pot smoking a virus risk factor

Makes sense....but now's not a good time for the folks with those addictions to try to stop, ya think? .... the stress of all this is way too much for all of us....the way I see it, they have a 'supposed' stress reliever at hand, so they think....its all mental....and how are they buying their weed these days, hmmmm.....would look very obvious meeting up with anyone outside or in the car, for sure while this isolation is happening.
Medical marijuana scripts is a different story....it can be mailed, I think....

I don't smoke cigarettes,, or smoke or take non prescription drugs in any form, I never have.. my husband doesn't do drugs either, or smoke weed.. but he does Vape tobacco after being a heavy cigarette smoker for about 40 years , and although I would really like him to stop vaping, and he is not a stress filled guy with anxieties generally, I still wouldn't expect him to try and give up vaping at this period.

There's nothing left to enjoy for anyone... we can't even go to the pub fgs... we can't even meet up with friends.. nothing at all that brings us comfort or joy... so I say much as I hate that his health could be severely affected by smoking, let him at it. ..during this current time ..

I quit smoking years ago. I have to say it was a pretty miserable experience, and took a while for it to stop feeling bad (none of this two-weeks-jittery-and-you're-fine nonsense). But it's been over ten years! Done is done!

Anything that leaves residue in the lungs will impair function & make recovery much more difficult or prevent it altogether.
Tar from smoke or resin from pot interferes with the function of Cilia in the lungs:

"In the body, cilia on the surface of tissues are responsible for protecting a person from germs in the lungs and for pushing an ovum through the Fallopian tube, among other tasks. These cilia are called motile cilia, and they are found in groups and beat in waves."

I quit 30 years ago for health and money reasons. I laugh at the price of cigarettes today $5-$7 per pack. That is over $2,000 / yr. smoking one pack per day @$6/pk.
Besides that, smokers are paying someone to hurt them.

Never smoked. Not once. Never even tried it. Never toked. Not once. Been doing a little day drinking lately, though.... Just being honest. I am so over this.
A little alcohol has health benefits. It's only heavy drinking that's harmful. That's true with anything; even things that are essential.
