Chocolate, what kind do you prefer?

We took a tour of a cacao plantation in Ecuador and got the chance to grind our own chocolate. Believe me, you don't want to put the "straight" product in your mouth...…. I swear it took an hour to get that look off my face!

One of the best things I tasted was chili-infused chocolate. Yum.

Mostly dark, some milk, most favorite is " Lindt Lindor ". Dislike white chocolate.........Here's my most favorite muffins.IMG_0330.jpg They look good enough to eat. Banana Double Chocolate Bran. Fresh out of the oven.

My FAVORITE CHOCOLATE: See's Candy 2 of them, milk chocolate butterscotch squares and dark chocolate Rasberry truffles. but, I hardly ever have either of them. Is See's Candys only on the West coast? Sweets makes dark chocolate orange gel sticks. Those are so good too! It's not fun being stuck in the house without any chocolate.

I've never seen it anyplace outside California, but their website says they have stores in many other locations.

The best homemade hot fudge sundae, very simple, compliments of my long-gone Mother:

Gently heat some Hershey's (or equivalent) chocolate syrup, along with a glob of peanut butter, in a sauce pan until the peanut butter is melted and syrup is good and warm.

Pour over ice cream, add nuts, whipped cream, or whatever you like.

To warm you on a cold winter's night:

Make your favorite hot chocolate, and add a shot or two of peppermint schnapps before serving.

Love the hot chocolate idea! I always add a smidgen of cinnamon to my hot chocolate! I love the flavor of it! But Peppermint Schnapps would probably taste even better! Oh! Instead of milk, use half and half! It's so rich!

Dark - has to be 73% minimum. I'm pleasantly surprised that Trader Joe's has their own brand of "Extra Dark 73%." It's great & not pricey.

I use whole milk, as I don't usually have H&H around, but yes, I'm sure it's much better. I will make a point of trying it, with cinnamon too. :)

When I use the dry hot chocolate in individual envelopes, I always add a spoon of plain cocoa to it to make it more "chocolatee."

I prefer dark chocolate as well, preferably Hershey’s or Dove. There’s also a dark Mars bar that’s to die for. White chocolate is good when you want a different experience. Hershey has a “cookies and cream” white chocolate bar with bits of Oreo cookie in it. Is chocolate gluttony a sin? This is probably why we refer to some chocolate as “sinfully good.” :)🍫

For Easter I made a butter cream recipe I found on the Land o Lakes site.
Really simple recipe using cream cheese, butter confectioner's sugar.

I rolled it into walnut size balls & dipped in mixture of milk chocolate & dark.
The candy should sit a couple of days somewhere cool .

Sadely they didn't last long here, seems hubby was in to the stash before they got creamier.
