New hip finally scheduled.

I won't bore you with the details but since last November I've had replacement of my left hip scheduled and cancelled multiple times. Today I got a call saying the State is allowing hospitals to once again perform elective surgery and I am one of the first scheduled to be operated on - in late May.

Since it has been some months since my surgeon last performed a hip job I'm hoping he still has his skill set. If I see him walking into the OR with a copy of "Hip Surgery for Dummies" under his arm.......I'm speaking up.

LOL. Also speak up if you ask him if he's a little rusty & he answers: "Don't worry; I reviewed the instruction manual, but the hospital is short on sterilization equipment, so I'm soaking all my instruments in Bourbon."

Well, as long as he's not soaking himself in bourbon.....

Ask if he is doing a front approach, a front approach is harder for him, but recovery is faster for you.

Keep us updated @Llynn of how your doing after surgery and wishing you the best before, during and after this experience.
