Dr. Phil is the latest TV doctor to enter the coronavirus fray, though earlier entries from Dr. Drew and Dr. Oz didn't end well. Phil McGraw, who has a doctorate in psychology, went on Laura Ingraham's show on Fox News Thursday night to argue for a loosening of lockdown rules.

While I understand that some think people will be committing suicide and like to bring up stats on other fatal events, the fact remains that this virus is insidious and very deadly. Not waiting until it's safe to reopen will cause more deaths and devastation. What gets me is people quote these annual stats, seeming to forget that the astounding number of deaths we've seen from Covid-19 is for a quarter not nearly a year yet. I'm surprised Dr. Phil went there...really.
