I bought a 5.0 mustang a few years ago thinking I could recapture my thrill driving days only to learn I am not as nuts as I was in my teen years. I sold it after two years.

Agreed! When the first car you ever drove was a Mustang, it kinda spoils you for anything else!

The Mustang was never in the muscle car category, at least not in my time. They are what is referred to as a “Pony” car. I raced against several Mustangs and unless some work was done on the drivetrains to improve upon their performance, they weren’t much competition.

The Cobra, on the other hand, was a bit more competitive.
