Started out the day going to senior hour at the grocery. The store is pretty well supplied now so I can get pretty much what I want. Got the bacon we like, chocolate milk for the big guy, although I don't understand why adults drink milk-yuck. Eggs, we took ours to the group home yesterday since they ran out.

Hamburger buns for the group home, pop, oh, yes we bought pop. I didn’t notice he bought me the wrong kind, sigh, but pop is pop and I am so tired of water. Even though the doc made a point of reminding me no pop, oh, well, like a five year old wanting ice cream, I want pop. Hmm, wish I had bought some ice cream. Lol.

Then Home Depot to buy 6 bags of garden soil to put in the long back yard planter for the summer crops. That planter is almost done. It’s where we put all the extra dirt and shavings from the large tree we had remove; and the cement pieces from the small pad we removed. Got to put stuff somewhere.

Then home. He put the dirt into the planter and went back to bed. I finished moving my vegetables into the planter. The back yard neighbor’s property is a bit higher than ours, so we came out about two feet, laid three layers up of bricks, filled with dirt, and now have a planter the entire span of the back yard.

Did the same thing on the side, but only two bricks high. I have raspberries, roses along the fence line, and flowers in that garden. Took apart a-small dog run which we bought for 50 dollars and fenced that area off from the dogs. The back garden will be fenced off as well.

Then I stripped my bed, washing everything, including blankets and pads, then will put my new orange sheets on. Should brighten my room a lot. I have noticed a tad of depression creeping up and I am determined to reverse that before it becomes a problem. Busy, busy, busy.

Oh, watered both gardens. What is everyone else doing?

Husband is in the process of moving the dogs into his bedroom. Currently they are in the living room, but I can not stand having my computer in my bedroom any longer so I am moving it to the living room where I can spread out, and do genealogy research.

We considered buying a sofa, but have decided against it. Why buy a sofa for someone to come over and sit on once or twice a year. We’ve done this our whole lives, sofas in the living room which rarely get used as if there were a sofa rule. If someone comes to visit they can sit on a dining room table chair, no one is coming for dinner 🤣.

Today I had the distinct pleasure of repeatedly helping to get the Harley up and down off the lift. Luckily all I have to do is hold it perfectly upright while the lift is being maneuvered. But over and over again? Sigh.

Oh, and I also got to get down on my poor old knees several times to measure how much the new shocks he just installed did whatever they did when he wasn't sitting on the bike and when he was.

He thinks he's a motorcycle mechanic. Breaking news: he isn't. He had a perfectly good big touring bike but a midlife (OK, waaaay past midlife) crisis occurred a couple of weeks ago and a huge Harley appeared in the garage. He had the other motorcycle accessorized just the way he wanted and now it's starting all over again.

When do I get MY midlife crisis?

We are preparing for winter next month by collecting and cutting wood to light the slow combustion stove ,night temps are down to 5c that makes the floor tiles like waking on ice so its getting close to dragging the old squeaky wheel 50+ year old wheelbarrow out and fill it with wood to put close to the back door.
We don’t get snow but we get very cold arctic winds during winter 🥶

Last week I walked around my yard picking up sticks and branches. Also all the empty cobs from the dried corn cobs I put out over the winter for the squirrels and birds. My neighbor mows my lawn, same time as he does his..so when he was out doing his yard, I went out to clean that stuff off mine.
I have been putting out sunflower seeds for the birds too. They seem to enjoy it. I have also been doing the same as many home bound neighbors...lots of spring cleaning, and putting stuff out for the trash guys. You should see Thursday afternoons in my neighborhood. We all have the same trash hauler (mobile home park pays) and pick up day is Friday. Every third house seems to have piles of stuff.

We've been occupying ourselves with a little of this, and a little of that... indoor type stuff, cleaning, cooking, baking, relaxing, a little yard-work now that the weather has been getting nicer, but really, nothing too pressing.

Our home and gardens are a labour of love for us, we do a little each and every year to steadily improve upon the old, and we enjoy it. Not only does it keep us busy, sitting back and seeing all the changes as different projects take shape is always so rewarding.

Next week we'll be making our way outdoors and getting started (seriously) with all things gardening, and I'm really excited over that.

I don't understand that rule either. I chose not to have one either.

Almost my whole life I lived with Harley owners and I think working on them is half the fun (for them) of owning one. The wives' job is driving a truck somewhere to pick them up when it is broken down along the road.

I have been doing a very thorough spring cleaning of my apartment. Don't feel sorry for me........it is only 338 square feet. I have lived here almost two years now and brought stuff with me that I could not get rid of. Well, now is the time! In between cleaning, I am working on my family tree at Ancestry. Busy all day and the time flies.

What would you want for your midlife outside crisis? Decide that, and get it! old knees are the worst, my are painfully swollen and, since once I’m on the floor I can not get off it, my old knees just have to bear my standing weight.

We just ordered another trash can, with all the yard scrap we need it.

Having the health department come in and disinfect my apartment after having COVID-19. I am not satisfied with just airing it out. I am just a tad too finicky.
I did not know they would do that, do they charge you a fee? I don’t remember reading how you caught the virus. Do you know how you caught it?

Every morning, as soon as it’s light, the birds in the neighbor yard put up a racket. Reminds me its time to feed this dogs, but now husband does it since they are in his room. Time for me to get up feed the chickens, milk the cows, and let the horses out of the barn. Old time woman duties, thanks heavens we just have the puppies, lol.

The neighbors chickens are quiet this morning, wonder why? You are allowed to have 3 chickens in our area and have to pay a fee of 50 dollars for the privilege of driving your neighbors nuts, cluck, cluck.

I have dog clippers and am considering cutting all my hair off. I like short hair and it is getting far too long, sticks up everywhere. Last time I was at the hairdresser I had it done fairly short so I think I should do it, but I am not totally sure. It will grow back so no great risk. But how mad will I look? Will children run screaming away? Hmm, not a bad thing really, lol.

Well, got to water before it’s too hot to be outside. It got really hot yesterday and then vacuum. My new vacuum awaits me. 😀

I started doing the spring cleaning during a warm spell, but the weather got cold again. I prefer to do major cleaning when I can open the windows for nice fresh air, and don't need to be wearing extra layers, so I didn't get any farther with it. Need to pick up where I left off, and get the cleaning done soon.
Holding hands on hips as I say this... are you SURE, Janice, that you didn't grow up in the same house as me? Are you SURE? :)

Oh, yeah, I have that to look forward to. Can't wait.

He'll be out of luck,
We're selling the truck.

Hey, I'm a poet and don't know it!
But my feet show it.....
they're Longfellows.

What kind of vacuum did you buy, Aneeda?

Hmm, a heavy one, lol, hard for me to use but it works much better than the cheaper one I had that broke. My orange sheets are very nice and go well with my blankets. It’s also so nice to sleep that first night in a totally cleaned bed.

I just noticed HULU is free for a week.

My total house cleaning may be delayed as I need to watch the third season of the Handmaidens tale, it’s all about putting the most important things first. 😀. All my plants survived the replanting, but my shoulder is very painful this morning. The surgeon still has not called me back.

I had hoped it would rain last night, but the storm blew the clouds away. I have flowers in the front I want to dig up and move but the ground is too hard. The neighbor’s chickens have started clucking so they are still alive. Took the trash out. Had cream of wheat for breakfast.

My mother used to make it for us when we were very small. It always had lumps as she did not stir it. I love cream of wheat with butter, sugar, cream, sigh, I only put a sugar substitute in it.

Such an exciting morning, what will I do this afternoon? Maybe vacuum, got to watch HULU now, lol.
