So little is really known about the Coronavirus and even less about the symptoms in children. Reports of additional symptoms and inflammatory conditions are now appearing in children in England & U.S.

"This week, the New York City Health Department announced finding 15 cases between April 29 and May 3. The "full spectrum of disease is not yet known," it noted. "Only severe cases may have been recognized at this time."

On Wednesday, the New York State Department of Health expanded that to 64 cases statewide and issued an advisory on what is being called "Pediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome Temporally Associated with COVID-19."

Two children are now known to have died in New York with the syndrome, a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy."

This is terrifying!
I agree. This complication is rare, but it is horrible to hear the world's top scientific minds declare that they simple don't know enough about the Covid-19 virus and are learning new things as time goes by. Kawasaki virus is quite well known, but having it appear in Covid-19 positive children adds another horrifying dimension to a little-understood virus that so quickly reached pandemic proportions.

I saw this on TV last night. It looks terrible. Is it painful?
It makes children quite miserable, but it is the visible symptoms that tend to terrify parents. On its own, if untreated, it can be quite serious and cause coronary artery problems. With it linked with Covid-19 positive kids, it is even worse. It is technically called mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.
