My old house, your old house, upkeep on your house, yard, whatever. What are you doing daily to move forward in life? Daily updates welcomed.

What would you want for your midlife outside crisis? Decide that, and get it! old knees are the worst, my are painfully swollen and, since once I’m on the floor I can not get off it, my old knees just have to bear my standing weight.
My knees are like that too. I have slid from the walker seat to the floor twice. So didn't actually fall. Rabbit thought it was great that I was on the floor with him, so I stayed for a bit. If my walker wasn't close, not sure how I'd have gotten back up.

Unfortunately you’d have to do what I have done, call the paramedics and pay a fee. You just can’t stay on the floor forever.

My neighbor called at 2 pm - the hour when my mind shuts down and my eyes close: "Have you been outside yet?" Yawn... uh, no. "Come on out, I have spaghetti for you." So I dress, mask, and head outdoors. Her dog is out, choking itself at the end of the cable because it wants to love me. I can't resist. So, the dog and I love on each other and then play ball.

Her son gets his bat and the bucket of balls and I watch them play for a while. Then, I go sit on my step and refuel with cold coffee. That restarts my motor and I decide to move the ferns that have trespassed under her fence. No complaints on this day - while it wasn't toasty, at least it wasn't snowing or raining today! And, I didn't have to cook!

I did not know they would do that, do they charge you a fee? I don’t remember reading how you caught the virus. Do you know how you caught it?
I have to believe it was a staff member since we've been on lock down since March 6th and haven't left the facility, while they come and go. Several were infected. I was diagnosed on April 16th and re tested on May 4th. Test came back negative on the 8th and yet I wait for a complete cleaning up in this place with total disinfecting.

Yup, was a staff member in sons group home that got sick, but he didn’t get the virus.

Isn't it awful katlupe to not be able to get up off the floor? When I was young, I'd sit on the floor with my legs crossed and just rise to a standing position when I wanted to get up. What a joke that is today. I could run up and down stairs like the wind. I'd kill my self attempting it today. I look in the mirror and as, what happened to me? Old baby, old baby replies the mirror, ;)

Yes, I never thought this would happen to me. I was pretty physical and into exercise, belonged to a health club and had an exercise room in my home. Maybe that is what caused my problems? Don't know now but my doc says no.

I was always very athletic and played sports hard and furious. Plus, my exercise program was a tough one. Well, today, I am paying for it. I developed rheumatoid arthritis, had a spontaneous compressed fracture of the lumbar spine and also have spinal stenosis. I also displace my right hip somehow. Unfortunately, I am not the most graceful of people and am rather klutzy, so one injury after the other which I ignored has contributed to all this. Believe it or not I am still very mobile at 87 and when I play with the dog outside will even sprint after her. But, do not let me on the ground or floor. That is my real undoing.

I have three compressed fractures of the spine between my shoulder blades, so I feel your
pain. They have never stopped hurting, does yours always hurt? I’m 73, somewhat mobile for most of the time 😂

You know Aneeda, I am so accustomed to pain that unless my nerve endings due to neuropathy flare up, I barely notice anymore. If I walk any distance without stopping, my lower back muscles go into spasm and that is painful. I am 87, so I have been learning how to pace myself pretty well.

Well, what new and exciting things await me today? Lol.

Made myself canned corned beef hash for breakfast and had some canned peaches. Yummy. Thinking about a piece of toast for my snack later. I bought a small loaf of pecan white chocolate fresh baked bread for toast. Took my pills. Watching the last episode of Handmaid tales, season 3 really good.

Husband finished the planter and I’ve moved all the veggies into it. They all survived. Now I have a flower garden and a veggie garden. It was announced today that groceries have increased in price about 2.8 percent, don’t remember the exact number. Like we all have noticed how expensive everything is.

I spend 200/300 dollars a month keeping the guys in the group home fed. I can not deduct this off my taxes like those of you who contribute to organized charities. I am simply out the money. Sometimes, when things are tight for us, I think I should only worry about my son, only get extra food for him. But I can’t. How could I let the others be hungry?

They are all so excited when I bring groceries. I also buy toilet paper 😀for them. I confess, during the extreme shortage, it just about killed me to give them toilet paper.

I/we are trying to make decisions about finishing the back yard. We do need to buy more rocks, for certain areas and pathways. For the rest of it, I am thinking grass even though we are both allergic. It’s not like we are going to sit on it, and son is mowing the lawn (weeds for now) for us. Grass would be a lot cheaper. Either way, I am out of money for now.

I think we will try a test area. Grass from seed, and see how it goes. None of my veggies seeds or flower seeds that I planted have come up. But I still have hope, lol. I bought some corn seed. Think I’ll plant it and see if I have better luck.

There is a fire somewhere so don’t think I can work outside today. I smell the smoke inside the house.

Husband vacuumed yesterday. The new vacuum works well. I have rearranged the house again and really like the way it looks now. Will leave it this way. I still wonder about a sofa, but I have no money for one, and no one to sit on it. 😂

We puttered about the house today and after lunch went to the Tractor Supply store to get some bird seed. Those dern birds are eating us out of house and home! LOL! And we drove to a parking lot to watch the Thunderbird flyover. OMG! So awesome!! Hospital personnel were out to see it, too. And lots of other folks. People need to get back to normal. Not sure how that's possible.

Well, there will be a new normal for us old folks. Masks, wipes, social distances, and stuck forever in close quarters with my, oh, hmm, our husbands. Sigh. Went to Lowe’s, bought a gate for the garden, so I can get in and dogs can stay out. Some garden soil and I found a plant I loved so much I paid full price to get it. 😱

Planted the last of my clearance roses which I got for 5 dollars marked down from 20 or so. They are all doing fine, they just needed water. Got three small pots, to repot 3 plants into -the new one and two others i got before on clearance. This only leaves about five pots of yellow iris that I got for 3 a pot.

Once the other garden space is done, hopefully Friday, I can depot the iris, break them up, and get them all planted. Going to check a different Lowe’s tomorrow for more clearance plants. Can’t charge a single thing until we get SSI in two weeks so I make sure I can pay it off right away. Oh, and sprayed weeds, so many weeds. How does you garden grow? It grows weeds. 🤣

House repairs are on a long term charge at 0% till Xmas. Got to get that paid off, doubt I’ll make it. But had to have those repairs.

Got great news. Called to see when Aussie‘s shot was and the vet had a cancellation and can fix Henry. YAY. So surgery on the baby tomorrow.

You all are making me feel bad.

I've never been so sedentary in my entire life. This is going on a couple of years now. I used to be so active.

I won't talk about what my place looks like.
But it’s never too late to start working on your place. Just pick a spot, in or out, do one thing, next day, another thing, and onward. I am so exhausted all the time, it is hard for me to even move some days. But most days I force myself to do something. Somedays are better than others. Some Days are just sit in a chair and don’t move. But I always make it to my chair in front of the tv 🤣.

I have a variety of issues, stage three kidney failure, and I only have one kidney, the other one died in 1985-tired. Mild heart failure (plus several rhythm issues)-tired. Addisons disease, tired. MDS, a rare red blood cell cancer-tired. Fibromyalgia-tired. Diabetic-tired. And other stuff that makes me tired and causes a lot of pain. I am just plain exhausted most of the time.

Based on fatigue I would never know if I had the virus or not. Lol.

But, I do a little some days, medium other days, and a lot some days. Eventually everything is done and, yay, I then get to start all the housework over again. One day at a time, one step at a time, no where to go but forward.

Seriously, really, there is simply no where to go. 😂. So don’t feel bad.

Took Henry to the vets for his surgery this morning. Then went to Home Depot to pick up the sprayer I forgot to buy yesterday at Lowe’s. Later back to Lowe’s to return a few things as we are constantly changing our minds on what to do in the back yard. Trying to spend as little money as possible.

While at Home Depot bought a small air conditioner for my bed room. HATED to do this as I was determined to spend no more money than necessary this month, but it’s supposed to be 90 degrees on Sunday. House does not have air conditioning and I can’t afford to put it in. I have to have a small one for room.

Then we will go to our sons and get back two small air conditioners that we gave him last year as he is not using them. He is using the big one we gave him that our daughter gave us and it works well for his entire mobile home. Later we will have to buy another one, but these will do us for now.

Have run out of canned fruit. 🙁. Still have half a freezer of our food, and another months worth of food for the group home. Good on TP. 😀. I am almost done with the book I am reading and order the next one in the series from amazom.

Books are funny. It’s not in paperback yet but the choices were buy used, hmm, nope. I would think they would have to stop selling used books for now and maybe for forever. Buy new at 26 plus or buy publishers overflow for 14. Obviously ordered the one for 14. Libraries are not open, of course. But ours is still being built anyway.

Going to go out and do the watering soon. I was thinking of first going to Lowe’s in another city, but I’d have to drive myself and my knee doesn’t seem up to it today. so as much as I want to go, that’s a no. Sigh.

I worked on my truck this morning. It has been making some loud screeching noises lately...coming from the belt area. So today, I replaced the idler pulley, the tension idler pulley, and the serpentine belt. Now, it's much quieter, so I'll see, in coming weeks, if I found the right source. Stretching the new belt over the pulleys was quite a chore....had to use a piece of pipe to get enough torque to pop it on.
