A Huge Piece of Space Debris Falls to Earth Uncontrolled

"What goes up, must come down." There's a huge amount of space debris orbiting the earth that most people are blissfully unaware of. Most would burn up upon re-entry into the upper atmosphere, but larger pieces could pose more of a problem. Perhaps Chicken Little was right...The sky is falling! 🙀

For a few hours Monday, a nearly 20-ton piece of space debris fell uncontrolled from the sky, passing over Los Angeles and New York City and causing a bit of stress for the experts tracking it before it safely splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean.

This was a concern that I included under a post about 5G, I believe. There is already an incredible amount of space clutter. We do not know the impact such debris might ultimately have on the environment. Will it impact the climate? Will it contaminate the world with toxins? Will it come crashing down on OUR home? Bad enough that we pollute the ground and water and air. Now, we have polluted even further beyond. /-:

It was not space junk rather a vessels from an intelligent life form. The U.S. Navy has been sighted in the area of splashdown surrounded by Blackhawk helicopters preventing the media from entering the area. In the dark of night a large retrieval vessel was said to beheaded to ward the area of operation. If you believe any part of this spread it everywhere possible if you don't then have a good laugh.:alien:

I had no idea the amount of junk we have floating around us. They actually have to move the space station around to get out of the way of this junk. I think we ought to have an international conference to determine "space junk law". What goes into space, comes out of space. When something become obsolete, it just can't float around; there must be a definite mechanism to steer it back into the ocean.

We need methods to totally vaporize this junk into something totally inert - any tech-savvy Trekkies in here?
