My Two Favorite Trucks

Nice looking trucks there dog! I personally like those with the front and back seats on them but never had one.

Couple of sporty looking trucks there, FM.

Did you sell them account wanting something different? As in a ford this time around?
A 2121or 2020 F150 is on the menu. There are three dealerships I have talked to that build custom high performance trucks but they are not anxious to be flexible on the price. If there final answer is the sticker price then I am going to build one using a shop near by.

Here's hoping due to the pandemic, you can walk away with the truck of your dreams and for the right price.

There's nothing handier than a nice pickup truck. I've had several, over the years, and I prefer driving them, rather than a car. Since I retired, I put very few miles on the vehicles, compared to years ago. I have a trusty, and almost new looking 1997 Dodge Dakota, SLT, 4WD, extended cab, that just recently turned 100K miles. Every time I look at the price of a new truck, I pat the old Dodge on the fender, and tell it to "keep on truckin". I much prefer the mid size trucks because they fit in my garage, out of the weather. If this rascal continues the way it is...a couple hundred dollars a year for routine maintenance....oil/filters/new tires/etc., etc., the Sons-in-laws can flip a coin to see who gets it when I croak.

Hold out on that price.

As I'm sure you know, the bottom is falling out on the used vehicle market. They're backed up all over the place. New vehicle prices have yet to been hit. My personal expectation is that when the reduced trade-in values become a sales-limiting factor, we'll see better new vehicle prices.

On the other hand--as you know--trucks have always been in their own "recession proof" class.

The one truck I really miss is the 1989 S-10 extended cab I had. The 4.3 litre V-6 was sweet in that small truck. I still have my 2005 Canyon 4 door with the 3.6L inline 5, but it's a weak engine for that size truck. It still runs, though.

Ahhh yes, I bought an S-10 in 82 and had a dealer installed 4 inch lift kit. Later that year I bought a second one (tan). Then in 1987, I got hold of an 82 with a 4 inch lowering kit. (side by side, the 4" lift and the 4" lower always made me smile) :)
In 1989, I bought another new S-10 but, I'm still searching for a picture of it.
Good little trucks for sure. (y)
