I may have solved the foggy glasses problem.

I just bought a nice round 1 1/2 “ diameter 4x power magnifying glass on a 36” silver plated neck chain, that I’m going wear to the stores to read the fine print on things instead of fumbling around with the glasses & my mask etc. Going to try it out tomorrow. Now all I have to do is be careful I don’t set myself or anything else on fire with it....
 

Those of us who suffer steamed-up glasses from mask-wearing will possibly blunder into unyielding objects or pass out from excessive carbon dioxide intake. It makes me wonder how superheroes have carried on for so long... but they seldom seem to require visual correction!

I'm wondering about trying some of the products used for windshields on the car. Rain X. When you apply it to the windshield and rear window, the rain just bounces off.

I think I have some sitting around somewhere (who doesn't have something sitting around) and I'll give it a try. I know glycerine works on glasses to keep them from steaming up in the winter.

I know RainX makes an anti fog product. Not sure if regular RainX would do the trick or not. Worth a try though! I also heard that shaving cream smeared on and then polished off would work.

Personally, I just make sure my mask high enough on my face/cheeks and tight enough over my nose that the bottom of my glasses sit over the mask. I don't have any fogging issues when I do that.

I suppose you are right, but my concern is more about the so-called droplets from others. I have been pretty good about avoiding my face, but still, I am aware that the issues you mention can be a different problem for me.

This whole COVID thing has become a nightmare.

Tried it out today, worked great. I don’t have to hold the glass close to my eye, just close to what I want to read on the product, like how much sodium, # of ounces, etc, a good 2 feet away from my face. I appreciate the suggestions about what has worked for others, but when I even use a commercial glass cleaner on the lenses & dry thoroughly with an old cotton or linen hankie, I notice like a vaporish chemical residue.

@Ronni, thank you so much! I wanted to use something I had around the house without ordering something online that may or may not work. My husband had an old can of Barbasol shaving cream, so I put some on my finger and rubbed it on both sides of my sunglasses, then buffed it off with a Bounty paper towel. Wore my store bought mask and sunglasses at the park, and sure enough, I had no fogging at all! Thank you again for the tip! :)
