I love trains! Very informative! I used to have an HO scale steam train 4' x 8' layout with mountains, lakes, falls, tunnels, buildings, and people. Unfortunately, I built it in a loft and discovered that it couldn't be moved without major disassembly. /-; Recently, I've been working on an animated train ala 3D -Much more portable!

Have you ever slept on a train? For me, it is the most lovely way to sleep. There is something about the rhythmic sounds and motion that is SO comforting! Please consider posting some train songs!

Indeed I have slept on a train. Last year I took the Amtrak sleeper half way across country. It was so much fun.

I agree, I have slept on the sleeper train a couple of times when travelling from the west of England where I used to live in Cornwall to the west of Scotland.. back about 40 years ago now... oh wow, that's incredible even to think it was so long ago...

Oh, what a great trip that would be.
It sure would!
I picture lazing back in a comfy seat, sipping wine, tasting a find selection of cheeses and meats, and all while taking in all that nature affords.

The carriage name was Vera. I have tried to upload my own photo and no matter how small I reduce the file size it won't upload. This photo I found from a search, no problem uplifting this one.
I have so many photos: The Brass Band that played us off, the cabin steward, the carriage, our meal and champagne and on and on.
