Cleaning and other household issues...

Hmmm....it doesn't look like porcelain. The tub is porcelain.

I know the landlord knows it's there. I'm not messing with it. That's what I pay rent for. LOL

Can you tell from the bottom if it's fiberglass? It could be. I'm sure he got the cheapest thing he could get.
I think what is happening is the stainless steel drain has contaminated the sink material. Stainless does not rust but in view of how circular the stain is confirming to circumference of the drain you might be stuck with it.

As I said...the sink itself is very flat on the bottom so the water can never completely drain. So it sits there. I think gets stagnant and makes that ring. I'm just trying to figure out a way to keep it from getting worse.

I don't know if you all can see it but, that dark ring around the sink drain...I can't ever get rid of that. The sink is flat on the bottom like a box so the water sits right there 24/7. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Do you think I could keep it gone if I wiped the sink out after every use? I'm not interested in hearing about whether there's already another thread on this. If there is then I'm sorry.
Forget trying to clean that ring away. What you can do is go to an appliance repair shop and see if you can buy a small tube of Touch up paint and apply it very carefully. It comes complete with the brush and is extremely handy on all appliances. It also comes in different shades.

does that work on walls by any chance Camper?
It depends on the paint on the wall. I have this paint. I only use it on appliances. It's not a very big bottle but it's shiny. For walls? Best to go to the dollar store and buy those small bottles of acrylic craft paints. For small touch up. You can even mix them till you get the shade you need. Try it on a sample first and let it dry because the color changes from wet to dry. Get some small brushes there as well. It dries quickly. Also pick up a roll of masking tape. The kind that peels off easily. Also handy for touch up work.

I’ve had good luck with Mr Clean Magic Eraser - it totally eliminates a rusty ring that builds up around my bathroom sink drain....but you’ve gotta be careful to keep it away from the drain thingy itself because those erasers can be a tad abrasive.398C3631-2E88-474D-B13E-A621DFBB8D61.jpeg

With all due respect I would avoid paint of any and all brands for your problem. View this link.

Yes I know. But this is a special appliance paint. This is the type of paint they use for recoating a bathtub. What happens in a drain in the sink is that the water sitting there eventually makes its way into the porcelain. The stain is not on the outside so there's no use trying to clean it with anything. Your link takes you to a plastic sink. Those are what you find in laundry rooms. From what I was reading, this one looks like a porcelain or ceramic sink. I have never seen a plastic sink in a bathroom. Easy to check. Look underneath. Tap it.

Neve heard of a sink that does not drain 100%

Eventually the paint will discolor differently than the original material and to get the paint to blend perfectly with the sink color initially is a long shot as there are many definitions of the color white.

Well now. I had a good look at my bathroom sink and I must have a high grudge tolerant level.

But I have a new solution to the problem.

The sink will not drain 100% because there is a ridge there from the stainless steel ring.
So what I did today was to put the stopper in and pushed it down securely. Then I poured in 100% bleach and let it soak for a few hours. I have the before and after pictures. I have no idea of the composition of the sink material but you can tell by looking at the overflow drain hole

Your sink resembles the norm... steel with a porcelain coating. After shot looks great!
