Up here in Ohio they often asked if I want sweet tea or unsweetened tea and I always ask for unsweetened with lemon. I don't like all that sugar either that's in sweet tea.I like iced tea, but rarely try iced coffee, although I like it, too. I can't recall the last time I had an iced coffee. I guess iced tea is more common to have with a meal than iced coffee, unless it's a regional thing.
When I eat out, if I drink anything but water it's always unsweet iced tea (I don't really like sodas.) When I lived in Northern Virginia just outside of DC and ordered iced tea, they would always ask "Sweet or Unsweet?" Now I'm further south, you gotta be real clear if you want unsweet. Sweet is the assumed default...and it is sweet!
Man, all that sugar!!!! Makes me shudder.
Well if you get unsweetened tea it's not sickly sweet. Your tea's sound good.I don’t like iced tea it’s to sickly sweet for me however I make and enjoy my own kombucha
which is a fermented tea ,I like that because it’s nice and fizzy with extra flavour
I use black and flavoured tea ( 5 bags ) such as black currant or raspberry .
I like iced coffee but it stacks the wright on if you consume it to often
I've seen kombucha, but like sauerkraut, I would be afraid to consume something like that I've made myself without experienced guidance the first time through.I don’t like iced tea it’s to sickly sweet for me however I make and enjoy my own kombucha

Kahlua, baby.Coffee is my favorite drink. Either that or some form of liquor.
I used to make my own bar shooters.Once I had Bailey's Irish Cream and drank an entire pot of coffee with it. I was crocked by 11 AM. Mother called and wanted me to pop over. LOL!
Yes, I make my iced tea with a huge tea bag--it actually is circle shaped and about the strength of 15 tea bags, I think, making it strong enough to withstand lots of ice. I am going to make Chai iced tea today. It tastes good to me and is either Bigelow or Celestial Seasonings. Should be good as I've liked it hot, too. I may put a bit of soymilk in it, too. I would love to have some of that iced chai latte from Sonoma.I believe both iced coffee and iced tea are supposed to be made at double strength, so the ice cubes melting won't overly dilute the flavor.
The best iced coffees we've found are at the Vietnamese restaurants and cafes. Double strength French roast coffee with sweetened evaporated milk. If they're really serious they use double strength espresso. One glass will keep you up for hours on end!
I liked iced black tea. Not fond of fruit-flavored or herbal teas, hot or cold. I do enjoy iced chai lattes. There is a coffeehouse in Sonoma County, CA that makes the most incredible chai, with fresh spices rather than the usual cheap packaged spice mixes. The fresh green cardamon and fresh ginger make a big difference. Sometimes I get the iced chai latte with regular dairy, sometimes with soy milk. Good either way!
Loved these in my youth or silver clouds @ the KegI used to make my own bar shooters.
One was called a B52.
It's layered drink formed by pouring each ingredient over the back of a spoon into the shot glass, so they do not mix together:
-coffee liqueur
-Bailey's Irish Creme
-Grand Marnier
