Cleaning and other household issues...

Well, today is "Field Day Friday" (for those who were in the Navy) and I need to get back to my cleaning assignments before I get caught goofing off.

I have learned a couple of thing from this thread.

I have learned a couple of thing from this thread.
I don't get too worked up over it here because A. we're in the midst of a pandemic and unlikely to get much company and B. I don't get company. LOL! So it's really mostly dust bunnies at my place. I run around and try to get the grunge here and there. Our hard water makes it develop faster. I can't stand looking at it so, I have to take care of it. I like things to be clean.

This thread reminded me of a friendly argument I had years ago with a shooting buddy.
He had one of the most expensive guns ever made. For those of you who are familiar with guns, it was a Nickel Plated Colt Python - current value around $4,000.00.
It had normal carbon burn rings on the front of the cylinder. I explained to him that they can't be avoided & trying to clean them can damage the finish.
He wanted his gun to look pristine, so he used a chemical that was guaranteed to remove the burn rings.
It worked; it removed the rings & also part of the nickel plating.
