No laundromats

This family clothes load have gotten very large,we wash 2 very large loads in the washer but the dryer cannot handle any heavy loads. The local laundromat has heavy duty front load dryers that can handle the 2 full washed load. The biggest problem is these 6 feet long towels, they are still heavy even after the spin in the washer.
Why do people need 6 foot long towels to bath ??????
I can see a couple using this size towel after showing and...and..and....oh never mind.:)

I've spent $300 trying to get the old washer fixed and it will work once, then break.

Why I don't want to get a new washer: 1) a new washing machine can cost $600 and that's for a cheap top-loader. 2) where it has to go is in the cellar where it is now wet all the time, not nice and dry like it was years ago. This will lead to rapid deterioration since what the repairman said that the old was was "all rusty inside". 3) spending a minimum of $600 (plus installation and operating costs) would be more expensive that going to the laundromat every six weeks and spending $2 to do a load. 4) I don't have to worry about maintenance and breakdowns in not having a washer.

What I have against public laundromats: you don't know what people have washed before you. Earlier this year I saw a woman bring in rugs that looked pretty dirty and stuff them in a top-loader and when she left, the washer was full of dirt and pieces of foam rubber (there's a sign right over the top-loaders saying NOT to wash rugs in them)! Can you get diseases from a public washing machine?

First......a lot of people today don't care what a sign says. And, if there's nobody around to tell them "you can't do that", like the owner or an employee, some people will definitely ignore the sign. On top of that, some people today plainly don't want to hear, and can get irritated when they are told "you can't do that".
Second.....if you don't want to spend out the money, for whatever reasons, guess you'll just have to use that Laundromat, no matter what you don't like about public Laundromats. But, waiting 6 weeks to do laundry?? All I could say is "oh well, that's up to you".

What is so shocking about doing laundry every 6 weeks? I'm single and since I retired, I don't have much since I don't go outside very much. I hang around the house in a nightgown. In six weeks I might have 4 nightgowns, 2 sets of underwear, bedsheets, bath towel, a couple pairs of socks. I have enough clean stuff that I can manage that.

Sorry, I didn't know that (in red).
Actually, it might be hard for many people to think of someone who only done laundry every 6 weeks. In all honesty, you're the first person I've ever heard of that waited that long. Nothing against you at all. Just saying, I've never known anyone like that.
I'm sure there are many people out there that really wish they could wait that long.
