Scientists Have Surprisingly Specific Answer on Alien Life

Study estimates 36 alien civilizations exist in our galaxy capable of communicating with us

Asked the meaning of life, the supercomputer in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy came up with a very specific answer: 42. Tasked with a different Big Question—how many intelligent alien civilizations exist in our galaxy—real-life scientists have gotten just as specific: 36. That's the estimate from a team of researchers out of the University of Nottingham in England, reports the Guardian.

Robert. I can't tell you the in depth conversations that dear husband and I have had related to aliens and other life in the universe, while sitting out under the stars. Planets, galaxies, alien life forms, it all fascinates me to the nth.

If we never make contact isn't it interesting that if there were intelligent life elsewhere we would never learn of it? Is it destiny or fate or a sad trick by creation?

I'd say it's by design.

Considering how stupid mankind is in destroying the planet in which we live, my guess is, aliens do occasional flybys when out in their spacecraft's as a form of cheap entertainment, watching us fools sink deeper and deeper into the abyss of nonexistence. Destroying, gutting, raping, pillaging, stripping, poisoning, and exhausting our world of all of it's beauty, it's wealth, and it's life.

I find it hard to believe that with all the billions of stars, our planet is the Only one with lifeforms. I think there is some truth in some of the reported UFO sightings that have taken place, over the years. Perhaps some of these "visitors" have evaluated our societies, and decided that we are not yet worthy of direct contact.

Standing ovation!!!! 👏

When they get close, they lock their doors

Probably for the best. If humans found other planets that could be made habitable for our species, we'd likely destroy, disrupt or dominate their civilizations in an effort to make room for ourselves.

Seems reasonable to expect that other exploring visitors might have the same thing in mind.
We are a very greedy species and seem to take no shame in taking advantage wherever possible. When I reincarnate, I want to come back as a spoiled lap dog. 😅

Wow. Pretty grim take. No mention of Bach, flowers, the ocean at sunset, Rembrandt, Shakespeare, the Beatles, apple pie, the conquest of polio and smallpox, penicillin, the Internet, Lee Child, lions, birds, dolphins, college campuses, cheeseburgers, France, anything? Just death and destruction everywhere?

Maybe we do live on different planets.
