Former Police Officer Admits to 13 Rapes & Murders

When his end comes, I hope a special place awaits monsters like him.

As far as I'm concerned, with 40 years passed, justice will never be served.

Los Angeles police took 28 years to decide to investigate one of their detectives: The victim's family went through hell trying to convince police that their officer was the obvious suspect. The female cop killed her over a man: (as if the psycho's photo wasn't enough)

Sure makes one cogitate over the numbers that got away with murder... and how many other cases were quietly buried as a result of cover-ups.

He really was a sick bast**d. I hope he and "Jerry" rot slowly in a special kind of hell. Another Killer Kop was allowed to go free for too many years. I hope the victims' families can find some kind of peace now that he's in custody. What a horrible thing to have to go through then relive.

Oh, I remember her. Lazarus. She had crazy eyes. I used to say that she had gunfighter eyes, almost like Manson.

But, there is more to this story than you wrote. Her boyfriend was also a cop with the LAPD, John Rasmussen (sp?). He dropped her and married a woman by the name of Sherri (somebody). This enraged Lazarus, so she killed Sherri. (I would have thought that she would have killed John.) Lazarus became a suspect, but they had very little evidence. So, for 28 years she was allowed to stay working with the LAPD and picking up numerous commendations as a great cop.

Then came DNA. The LAPD was given a grant from the government to use to try to solve some cold cases and they decided to run Lazarus's DNA that was left on Sherri and they got a hit. She was arrested a day later. In court, she was found guilty and I think her sentence was 25-life.
