When was the last time you went to a movie theater?

We saw that on Friday night. Wouldn`t have been my choice, but Wes wante to see it.I was bored silly by it-and it wasn`t what he was expecting either. Also, our old Golden Retriever passed away that morning,so we were both grieving and the movie was full of dad soldiers, dead horses and even a dead dog (great 😭 ) I think we both really needed a comedy that night...
Yes, if you were grieving, it was not the movie to see as it was quite traumatic.

Week ago to see 1917. In December took Grandson to Frozen. I enjoy movies. The theaters now have recliner seats. Lots of room. I know it is usually cold so I always take a sweater! Sometimes I take a big French vanilla coffee. Only one time did they say something to me about it. I just tell them they don’t serve what I want. Keep on walking.

Yesterday,my 'movie buddy',Alexei and I saw movie '1917'
We throughly enjoyed it, though some battlefield scenes were tough to watch. Its one of the best 'war movies I've seen in yrs. I can see why its been nominated for 10 Academy Awards this yr

".... but I think "Star Wars" was the last time I was in a movie theater....".
That was the last for us too. I assume you mean the very first one. I assume many of us have large, flat screen TV's and surround sound systems which make it pretty nice to stay home. I know, not quite like the large screen in a movie house, but minus the slurping, crunching, talking and feet sticking to the floor.

On Sunday. Saw the new Dolittle movie, but it was rather juvenile...and cartoon violence.
I only hear about 75% of it because of my hearing loss. I love the big screen. They tell me that
even blind people go to movies.

We went to the latest Star Wars movie, nice theater, with luxury heated recliners, $8.00 for seniors. Also beer and wine served if you want...

Until a couple of months ago, I hadn't been to a theater in 15 - 20 years. That was when we went to see that film where Tom Hanks got stranded on an island and was talking to a volleyball. When the "Downton Abbey" movie came out last year, I braved going to the theater to see it. I was shocked at how things had changed for the better. There were comfortable large reclining chairs and enough space between rows so you didn't have to worry about someone with big hair sitting in front of you blocking your view. You even got to choose your seat when buying the ticket.

Sometime in May of last year. My son, two youngest grandchildren (teens) went to see Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Every now and then I crave a good Godzilla movie (leftover from fond childhood movie going days). We all enjoyed it.

In March I went to see "Jumanji:The Next Level' starring Dwayne Johnson,Kevin Hart,Jack Black,Karen Gillian. It was sequel to "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" It was even better than the 1st one, throughly enjoyed it
I'm glad I went when I did because a week later all the local movie theatres closed

Some time in 2019 we went to see Rocket Man, and now I'm a little mad that was the last movie we saw in a cinema before the pandemic. We miss going out for movie night.
Hubby and I borrowed Rocket Man from the library in January and were glad to not have paid . Bohemian Rhapsody set a rock-n-roll biopic quality bar that RM didn't approach. We have long been big fans of both Freddie & Elton, so that didn't factor in.

Heaven only knows when we'll return to a movie theater.

Last time was in 2012. Since there have been several shooting and related things at our local theaters, so
I chose to stay away. I do love the big screen though.

We didn't see BR because I can't imagine watching someone pretend to be Freddie Mercury. He was one in a billion. People say the movie was great, though!

An added bonus to watching RM at home: you didn't have to suffer through audience members singing over Elton's songs, badly.

Agreed about Freddie being one in a billion. But Rami Malek did an astounding job of capturing his essence.

He won an Academy Award for Best Actor, a Golden Globe for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, and the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Freddie Mercury - and earned ever single one of those awards.

Years....The only one I can remember my 17 year old granddaughter came with me to a movie....She was 4 yrs old at the time...
I don't like sitting in a movie....It scares the Sheet out of me....
