I wanted to buy a cable that could hook up my cell phone to my television. Its called a micro to HDMI. I have no idea if it will work but I wanted to give it a shot. I went shopping to Best Buy. They advertised it but said they didn't have it in stock but they could order it for me. Well why would I do that when I could order it myself.
So I went out and bought a prepaid credit card because I'm new to the game and don't want to give out my bank account or credit card number online. There is a charge of $5.00 but so what, that's what I want.
I was able to find the cable at WISH which keeps sending me e mails. It was only $12.00 including shipping. That's much less than what BEST BUY was charging.
It was quite the experience. I had to turn ducks right side up to prove I wasn't a robot. And they must have asked three or more times for my address and shipping address, etc.
To shop online you have to register the prepaid card first.
If I get it and it works I will update this.
No wonder the big box stores are losing money. Their service is terrible. I was overwhelmed by the display at Best Buy of computers, printers, etc. They are out of my league.
And so is posting a poll. This is my first time.

Next time you think about buying "online", check out EBAY first. This cable can be had for $3.62...with free shipping, or even less if you want to wait a couple of weeks for it to come from China. Don't waste your time on Amazon...its $9 there.

If you are concerned about your financial info, sign up to use PayPal as a payment method....they do a good job of protecting your credit card info.

O.K. I have an app on my cell phone. I can watch a movie on that small screen. I want to connect the cell phone to the t.v. set so I can watch it on the big screen. What I ordered was a micro to HDMI cable. You plug it into the cell phone and the HDMI cable that is connected to the T.V. Then you set the t.v. for the input. All kinds of stuff can be connected to a t.v. I can connect a flash drive to the USB port and view pictures similar to a photo frame.

I can never find what I want on eBay. D MALE to HDMI is not the same as micro male to HDMI. It depends on the connector on your phone like a charging cable. I live in Canada. That item is not free shipping to Canada and there is exchange and possibly duty. 15.00 shipping. I'm paying $12 including shipping. Our golf organization dropped Pay Pal. They charge too much. Thanks for the tip. I might find a Canadian provider on EBay. I sell stuff locally on Kijji.

Good luck, let us know how it works..

Goodness me... I shop any and every site that has what I need, Amazon, being the most frequent one, though you really do have to keep an eye on prices through Amazon.

Over the past couple of years I've been somewhat turned off shopping on Amazon, due to finding so many things available elsewhere for cheaper, however, years ago when I first started using Amazon, I found prices to be great.

Thanks for your info. Are you in Canada?

Wishing you good luck with Wish, their shipping takes forever (China) and most of their products are absolute crap!

I buy from Amazon often. They seem to have what I want. And I read the reviews, even if I do not plan to buy an item from them.

I have had few issues with things I order from them, though I plan to cut back on ordering, and do more brick and mortar shopping when I can.

You bet you can. I think amazon is great for having just about anything you can think of but they don’t always have the best price. Today I bought saxophone key leaves which are for keeping some keys open to prevent them from sticking. It creates more air circulation and helps the pads dry out properly. At Amazon they were $80 plus shipping. Another place I got them for $29.99 plus 10% off with a coupon I got. Altogether it came to $38 with shipping included. Less than 1/2 price. Yayy. 😁

I heard that complaint about WISH before that's why I started out small. A long time ago I ordered something that took two months. But it was a part I needed that I couldn't find anywhere else. Now I remember why I didn't like online shopping. Because it's damn frustrating.

Wow! Now I know what the cords are for!

I've seen such before and was left scratching my head as to what exactly the cord was all about, now I know! :)

Thanks for explaining, Keesha!

Pay Pal has had many issues and I don't trust them at all. I have a credit card I use only for online shopping and have it set at a deliberately low limit.

Well, Excuse Me....I just did a search on what you posted in your Original note...."micro to HDMI". Try searching on "D Male to HDMI", and you will probably find several....Cheap. And yes, you can probably find several sellers that sell in Canada.

So are you telling me that type D is the same as micro? When I went to Best Buy they said they had type C to HDMI. The guy said "you need micro" So excuse me but he didn't say type D . This is why I hate online shopping. I have ordered the micro from WISH and the total cost was $12 including shipping and exchange. I'm a happy camper. Next time I'll get you to do it for me. Everything is great after the fact. They asked me the size of the HDMI. Apparently they come in different sizes. They gave me three selections to pick from. Try finding 'several sellers in Canada" What we have is American subsidiaries like Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and others too numerous to mention.I got the confirmation. Shipping next week. Micro USB to 1080 HD HDMI.Everything comes from China anyway.

If you want to shop "successfully" online, you must First know specifically and accurately what you want....especially if it is something involving electronics. No one can read your mind, or see, firsthand, just what you are attempting to do/build.

Well I'm going to tell you, you are no help. You are talking abou type D. I never mentioned type D. That's the link you posted. I knew specifically what I wanted and that's what I ordered at a good price. What could be more successful? I'm not asking anyone to read my mind. I type out specifics. Researched it thoroughly. I don't know what you are trying to prove with your posts to me. I asked you a question. Is type D the same as micro? You didn't answer.
