According to some research by professor Brian Scholl, of Yale University, "The brain is reading people's minds, not just where they are looking."
Our "Brains 'can read what's behind our eyes'!
He's drawn this conclusion, because of following the urge to look wherever someone else might be gazing, we're able to tell when they are simply averting their eyes, and not looking at anything in particular, (when we're staring at them). I hope that makes sense(?).
His findings have been published in "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences". anyway.
