Do you ever just want to run screaming down the street?

Went to my appointment at my orthopedic doctors since my hips hurt. He looked at the X-ray I had at the instant care and say it looked fine. So he was sure I had tore the labrum in my right hip, he would do the MRI to comfirm and then set up for hip replacement surgery. 😄. Been there, done that on the left hip.

I declined.

I don’t want another hip replacement. I am almost 74 years old and so tired of being in severe pain. I have a lot of medical issues and frankly simply don’t understand why I keep on keeping on. It is so frustrating. I asked him why my left hip, the one that has been replaced hurts so much. He pointed to the X-ray, see this, yup. Bone spurs are growing where you had the surgery. Swell.

Then I mentioned I was seeing the pain doctor for an epidural for my back pain. He say the cortisone shots lower your resistance in general and your resistance to the virus. Course I take prednisone every day. How nice. Went home totally depressed, but stopped at the store for macaroons, candy, and chips. Ate myself into a coma. I think I will probably cancel having the shot. I’ve been reluctant to get it anyway. Haven’t decided yet.

Meanwhile, I have an overwhelming urge to run screaming down the street-if only I could run.

I am sorry to hear of your woes, Aneeda.

To help lighten your mood, over in the Humor Forum (thread topic ADULT TOYS), Ken N Tx, is offering-up a wheelchair.

I'm thinking with a set of wheels under you, you'll be able to race down the street, and because you'll be saving your wind from not having to run, you'll have more in your bellows to scream and holler louder! LOL!

P.S. The macaroons sound delightful!

I totally understand Aneeda, and I have done that, running and stationery. In actuality, it doesn't help but sometimes it feels like the only thing to do.

Aneeda,
I am very sorry to learn about what you are going through and I certainly understand the urge to run screaming through the streets.

But I for one, would encourage you to take the necessary steps to lead the best life that you possible can. At 74, you are too young and way too feisty and sassy to do otherwise and we need you around here to keep the rest of us properly stirred up.

So enjoy those macaroons, candy, and chips. Then go scream at the world until you feel better.

YES definitely if only I could run. I can truly sympathize with you, I’ve had back & hip issues for many years. Two fusions, Lumbar & Cervical neck. Plus hip Labrum tears on both sides. Which were repaired by surgery, but hip replacement was never suggested. I Had 2 tears repaired in left side 5-6 years ago Before my fusions, I recovered quickly within a month. A Repair on left side a year ago took 4-5 months to recover. The first couple months I Thought the labrum Repair had failed.
My lumbar fusion was done 2 years ago, considered a failure because it hasn’t fully fused yet.
I qualified for a Medicare approved bone stimulator brace that I wore for several months, but With this COVID-19 checking to see results was post ponded until next month.
Consider asking your doctor about Labrum Repair which is much less evasion then hip replacement.

Good ideal! Thanks. The left hip was torn, in two places, and could not be repaired due to the length of time, and I had arthritis as well. The tear in the left does not hurt as much so probably not torn as badly, but I do have arthritis in that hip as well. I will ask him about a repair.

My neurosurgeon said they could do a 7 level fusion on my neck, hmm, no thanks. The only other blog I was on was the one before this, on spinal issues. I saw a lot of people had failed fusions. I hope that’s not your issue but sounds like it is. So sorry.
