Sign of the times-my new card is made out of pressed paper instead of plastic. I don't have any savings in this bank because the interest rate is around 0.1%. Here's kicker the card can't be signed on the back. I have tried four different pens!

I noticed that my new cards don't have embossed numbers. Remember, when the earth was just formed. and we got those carbon copy receipts with our numbers imprinted on it. They have this new 'tap" thing where you tap you card on reader, and it reads it without putting your card in the slot. I haven't tried it yet.

I have used the, tap, it works fine.

I can't see a paper card holding up well. How do you run it through the machine without it getting torn up? The cashiers here rip those things through with so much momentum they scratched mine & it's plastic!

There must be a problem with "plastic". I got the car insurance renewal last week, and the "wallet" cards were also made of heavy paper, instead of plastic. I had to cut them out with a scissors, because the perforations wouldn't release without ripping the card. I can't imagine a credit or debit card being made so flimsy....probably wouldn't be able to stuff into a reader more than a few times before it was bent or torn.

I like the new tap cards....as long as it's working.

Buses and trains in Los Angeles accept taptogo cards that I have fun tapping.
