Tetherball... remember the days? Remember playing?

I remember it being more popular with the girls than the boys, nonetheless...

We played first thing in the morning before the school bell rang, during recess, at lunchtime, and after school.

And "ring toss", which we played at camp. Played like volleyball, except it hurt less being hit by the rubber ring than getting a volleyball slamed into your head.
Yes, I remember ring-toss, too!

Been so long since I played either, and can't remember the last time I seen a tetherball pole.

I used to love playing tether ball. I also used to love playing four square. When I was younger we also used to love playing hop scotch.
I remember all the above!

Occasionally, a few neighbourhood boys would joint us girls when it came to hop-scotch and skipping rope, but not often.

I grew up in California and often had more girls as friends than guys. My guy friends really enjoyed hop scotch. We all had our own special things for throwing in the squares while playing. The really cool kids had the little chains of round balls that were often used as key rings.

In our neighbourhood, the boys outnumbered the girls, but there were only a few boys that would join-in with us. :)
