Harry and Meghan's new home

I think they needed to get away....It's their life and probably had to get away and live in the USA....
I thought as soon as they were married, it was not a great life with the royal-Family....
Maybe they didn't like Meghan cause she wasn't from England....Maybe, Maybe not...It's not for us to understand why!!!!
I wish them well....

Sorry, guess i should have specified better.
My question was a sincere one. I'm not well versed in "Royal Funds" - or what constitutes them. I'm guessing the royal family is plenty rich on its own, correct? They probably get a lot from the taxpaying public, but they wouldn't be standing on soup lines if the public monies evaporated.

I think they'll fit in well in the US.

You got that right!

Don't quote me on my dollar figures, but last I heard, Harry and wife were worth $30 Million, and you can bet if they ran into financial troubles, the royal family would be right there to help them.

British Monarchy has an estimated net worth of $88 Billion.

Ehhh... if I had $88 billion and one of my kids or grands needed a few million, I'd throw it their way without fretting.

Being part of the royal family probably sucks. Royally. Rank and money only go so far.

I feel sorry for Charles. An understudy for 71 years. I'm guessing he understands why Harry wants out and is supportive of that decision.

The entire royalty thing sickens me, always has, always will.

As far as I'm concerned, royalty went out with the 1800's. IMO it has no place in society today... kings and queens.

I remember the uproar that erupted when the queen was seeking for the public to pay for the fire damage at Windsor. Imagine, to look to the public to cover such expense, hard working folks that are just scrapping by themselves and struggling to provide a roof over their own heads and food on the table, yet looked down upon to pick up the tab for someone else's stay.

Sick.

Problem is many modern politicians want the kind of absolute power that royalty had. Putin is a good example, and he's far from alone in that desire.

I don't think all this to-do would have been front page news very long, had the Sussexes just quietly had a family conference stating their case and an equitable solution found. That Harry and Meghan decided to make it high drama only degrades this entire situation. It isn't as though he were king as in Edward VIII or even close to becoming such. Unlike Edward, these two made certain that they got their extravaganza of a wedding first instead of a pauper's nuptials. Rather cunning of them. I do believe Meghan is the captain driving this ship in many instances although Harry is said to loathe L.A., thus the move to Montecito. Who knows? Hopefully all this drama will die a peaceful death, they will become employed and live happily ever after. Meanwhile, the U. K. will still have its beloved Royals who draw in tons of money from tourists annually.
