Privacy alert: Your iPhone is tracking everywhere you go.

At this point, digital privacy is long gone. There’s always another device, feature or service tracking what we say, what we look at online and the places we go.

Some devices are more intrusive than others, and you may be feeding digital assistants more information than you realize. You can fight back. Tap or click here to stop all the smart tech in your home from listening.

Social media is another big offender. Tap or click for my answers to your most-asked social media privacy questions. No judgment here.

This is the way of the world, in the 21st century. Took me a while to accept this, but no need to stress, you can still keep the important data private, with good common sense.

What if you do not have internet service or gps turned on with your phone? It can not possibly trace you then can it?

It's one of those things that we all hate until it's helpful in finding something/someone that is lost/stolen, involved in an accident, etc...

I don't mind the loss of privacy as long as Big Brother uses a little discretion.

I believe "privacy" is a quaint notion that has vanished from our lives. As I understand it, your phone is 'pinging' its location, whether it's turned on or not. What you do, or want, look at, and watch is sales data with the goal of you purchasing something. You are fair game. Whatever can be gleaned about you, in anyway, is big business. It's no longer controlling what you want known about you, but what others can profit by telling what they know about you.

Your cellphone has always "tracked" you and always will unless it is turned completely off. Since it is a "cell" phone, it pings cell towers as you travel around. Otherwise you'd need a really long cord. (Many criminals have been convicted using cell phone "ping" data.)

Yes I know as I posted a thread about how Google is stalking me. My remedy was to turn off my location in the phone settings.
