well, maybe. i got a ride down a ski slope in "the meat wagon" and wasn't even hurt! was at Bolton Valley. me and my fellow chickens discover one of our favorite slope was nothing but ice. we all started shuffling to the next hill. i was never good at that, so i just told the rest to go without me and i'd catch up with them. a very nice looking guy came of to see if i needed any help... he was on ski patrol. i told him the bindings just wouldn't click to lock on toe of boot. he looked and said... he thought mine were the model that had been RECALLED!! he told me they could replace bindings, no charge in bout half an hour. i was concerned about HOW i would get to the bottom. ski guys options... walk down, ski down on ONE ski, or ride the "Meat wagon".

as i was lounging in that sled as handsome ski guy took me down... some of my ski buddies were going up the mountain on the lift. they figured i crashed and broke something. they came running down to first aid and no me!

so, what have you done that you don't think anyone here has done?

Well, I certainly have not done THAT, and you probably one of relatively few. :)

One rather humbling aspect of the internet is that whenever I think I have come up with a clever idea, or done something newly creative, I find on the internet that the rest of the world is already there, wondering what took me so long. Sometimes, for me, I think ignorance would be bliss in that regard, leaving me thinking I am an original.

Met a future prime minister of the UK! (Theresa May).

"Climbed Mount Everest", (only joking, haven't done that one of course:rolleyes:).

How about "Won 150 dollars playing roulette in Las Vegas"? (not a fortune, but a win.

"Swum the Atlantic",(sorry, back to making things up again! 😔 ).
I thought Bruno Mars was my daughters father but we did a DNA - Barack O is the father..LOL :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: (making things up)

While in the Navy a Phantom F4b we completed a check on the CO invited those involved in the check to take a ride in the back seat. Nothing like taking off and feeling the 4 stage after burner kick in.

Now THAT is something I would have liked to experience - 20 or 30 years ago though. ;)

Something most people have not done....

Fired (Fireman) and engineered (Engine Engineer) a 2-8-0 Baldwin Steam locomotive. Bring the engine up from dead cold to live steam operation then operate in revenue service. Many of the maintenance and repair procedures on a steam locomotive are like no other. Like bucking rivets, stay bolts and greasing wheel journals with hard grease rods. Very unique experience.

Also operated and restored a hand powered and gasoline fueled Fairbanks-Morse motor car, (4 wheel motor car used on rail for employees working on track or check track condition like that seen on Petticoat Junction tv show)

I mentioned this before.
My parents liked to take trips to Las Vegas. Mostly my mom liked the Roulette tables. My dad just wanted her happy.
My mom liked Joshua Trees & we always stopped in the desert so she could take photos next to them.
When I was around 5 years old, we drove a mile or so into the desert & my dad started taking photos. I had a habit of wandering & petting every animal I found outside.
I found a large snake next to a bush & picked it up. Later, I learned it was a Mojave Green Rattlesnake - one of the deadliest. I remember thinking, "He comes with his own built-in toy - how cute his tail was - with those rattles on it." I was handling him for at least 5 minutes & he was wrapped around my face when I heard my dad yell, "Hey...put that down...he can kill ya!"
I said, "But he likes me."
My dad didn't want to come near me while I was holding him. I gently put him down. To this day, I don't know why he didn't bite me or even rattle.
We were several hours from any hospital & at my small size, I doubt I would have survived if he bit me.

And, in case anyone missed these two yukky ones:
When I was 10, my brother & I were playing handball against the side of the house. I was barefoot. As I ran up to hit the ball, I heard a scraping sound. I looked down at my foot & saw that a nail went through the side of my big toe & out the other side. I started to pull it out but it was so rusted, it broke off. When I pulled on the other side, it also broke off, leaving a piece stuck inside the toe. I went into the garage & found a brand new nail & used it to push out the broken piece. I poured peroxide into the hole & put a Band-Aid over each hole. It healed perfectly. "Tetanus?" What's that?

When I was 16, I was swimming at the beach, maybe 50 yards from shore when I felt a tug on my foot - like someone grabbed it as a joke. I reached down & felt something thrashing. I didn't know what it was until it swam away & I saw the fin sticking out of the water - a small shark, (luckily) maybe 3-4 feet. The water was cold & I didn't feel any pain, so I thought it was minor, but when I got to shore, people started gasping & pointing at my foot. There was a big, deep triangle-shaped flap on the top of my foot & every time I took a step, it gushed blood; that's what was freaking people out. I wrapped it in a towel & drove home with my other foot. When I got home, I couldn't find bandages that were big enough, so I stuck the flap back on & covered it with masking tape. It healed fine - maybe the salt water prevented infection, or the Shark's mouth was clean because he gargled with Listerine.
