I Love Accents-----Do You?

My brother-in-law's brother affects a fake British accent that is extremely grating to the ear. It's so overdone, you want to scream. He's from California, for the love of Pete, and even if they do have Mayflower ancestors, HE'S NOT ENGLISH!

He's also a self-proclaimed expert on every known subject, but that's another matter.

This seemed to be done in radio for a while too. Faking a British accent to lend an air of class to a radio announcer. There was even a pop tune that referred to this during that time, but I can't recall the name of that tune offhand. This practice seems to have faded, as most fads do eventually, but now we do get more real British announcers on Public Radio and TV, which is certainly much more enjoyable.

hahaha..oh yes you do have an accent... as a Non American I can hear the difference in all of your accents.. even though none of you think you have one.. :D.. I may not get the right state very often ( although a few are very distinct, like NY, NJ, Boston etc).. but I know they're all different.
I would love to hear your accent!

If I have one, it does not sound at all like Long Island or NYC.
