My favorite restaurant is called The Tin Fish.. I love the Oysters (East coast) for an appetizer.. and Yellow Fin Tuna medium rare. Hubby gets the Chilean Sea Bass

I don't really have a favorite restaurant, like to sample different ones, but my favorite ''go to'' here in ABQ is a salad bar plus called Sweet Tomatoes, which has a wonderful variety of fresh vegs, fruits, prepared dishes, salads, simple fresh desserts like cobbler, and do-it-yourself soft serve. Cooking for one, hard to get a lot of variety, but can get lots of very wholesome variety there, nor over salted or sauced! My favorite food is really really fresh seafood, fish, shell fish, shrimp, simply prepared. Living in the middle of the desert Southwest, can barely trust what is sold in the stores, only a very few restaurants have any good ones at all here.

We have an excellent Chinese food restaurant near us that we've been going to for decades, and they don't use MSG....so the sodium problem is not an issue. We also like Mexican food, and often enjoy Pork Carnitas, Chili Rellenos (crispy), and some other dishes. Seafood is good, but we prefer to make our own at home, either some crab legs, shrimp, scallops, salmon, etc. Italian foods we like are Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Pizza, Meatballs, etc.

I don't really have a favorite because I like so many different kinds of food. I like Thai, Italian,Chinese,Mexican, Spanish(different from Mexican),Greek, Turkish.

My favorite is a place called "Clifty Inn". It is in a state park and sits atop a hill. If you get a good seat you can see the river. The buffet on Sunday is only $14.00 and is delicious. This time of year it is beautiful and the food scrumptious! You had better be ready to stand in a long line but it is worth every minute of it!

Where is it located , the state it sounds wonderful.

I love comfort foods mostly but many others, you know, the kind that makes you fat if you eat it more than twice a week. of course I rarely ever eat what would be considered comfort foods, the stuff is too heavy. I could just as easily life a moderate vegetarian life if I could whip up the dishes Sweet Tomatoes serve. But what I really truly miss, is lamb; I love lamb loin chops, I used to buy it once and then every other onto once a month up to couple of years ago. I can't fathom paying the prices I see in the supermarket that they are charging for lamb these days. hasn't stopped me from checking to see if there's ever a cut in price though; wishful thinking.

Hmmmm, but the more I look over everyone else's list, the more, I can't really say I truly have a favorite.

I'd have to say any really authentic Mexican restaurant, or Chinese (or sushi) restaurant that doesn't salt up the dishes too much.

April, we buy boneless Australian leg of lamb sometimes at Costco, then we slice it into portions big enough for the two of us, and freeze them. We'll either oven grill them or charcoal grill them and eat them with a veggie. I remember when I was a kid, my mother use to make long-bone shoulder lamb chops for us once in awhile, she fried them, and they were sooo good! We ate them with mashed potatoes (of course). ;)

I just remembered what was really good was Kalua Pig that we had in Hawaiil It's baked underground until the pork is super tender, juicy and oh so tasty! http://www.primitiveways.com/Imu1.html We used to go to a small diner type place there and just order a Pig Plate....one more good reason to go and visit Hawaii one more time.

I dislike eating away from home, but if I have to submit to eating in a restaurant, scampi and chips is fine by me as I don't like anything exotic.

In spite of Scotland having some of the world's best food and cookery, it also has a reputation for very poor health. The seafood caught round here is excellent, but most of it ends up in high class restaurants in London and Paris.
I live in a very rural area with no restaurants locally so I do all my own cooking. When I'm on holidays, my favourite country (and food) is Germany. Nothing to beat a good Schweinhaxe and a glass of Hefeweissen.

Aye, Scotland is very bad for heart attacks and high cholesterol. We don't eat out that often - my husband is a great cook. But when we go into Glasgow or elsewhere we normally eat at a Wetherspoons - not exactly gourmet food, but great beers and ales.

I learned to cook Indian food. I make a great Lamb Curry, vegetarian Dahl.. Chicken biryani. I think what attracted it to me was the mulitude of spices used in a single recipe. Growing up.. all my mom used was salt and pepper.... MAYBE garlic salt if she was feeling adventurous.. Also, when you cook Indian food yourself, you can adjust the heat level.. You don't have to add as much cayanne or fresh chiles as they do in the restaurants. I like a little bit of heat... but geez louise... some of those dishes in Indian restaurants will set your hair on fire..

American, Italian and Greek. My wife and I have one favorite restaurant here at our home in Pennsylvania, but we go to others as well. I don't know about you guys, but do you think the small sort of family type restaurant serves the better food, rather than a larger, ritzy type that charges $50.00 for a steak? My wife and I had been wanting and wanting to try this restaurant in Tampa called Harry's Steak & Seafood. Finally, on our last visit there we were able to go. My wife had the grilled Salmon and I had a New York Strip. I can't complain about the portion size or the taste of the food. Everything was fine. For our meal, dessert and two drinks w/o the tip was $117.00. I am not complaining, but asking, do meals really have to cost that much? I mean I know some of it goes towards the ambiance and the guy that comes over and whisks the crumbs off your table and they have another guy that just fills water glasses and the guy that takes your order is not the person the brings the food. I mean there is a person for every job. Even a different person to bring the check. I guess that is why it costs $117.00, huh? BTW, I knew we weren't going to McDonald's when we called for reservations and they told us that proper dress is required.
