No Guns or Ammo On Display @Walmart

I would imagine that most everyone has heard that Walmart has removed guns and ammo from their shelves. It's still available, but the customer has to ask for it. Ammo prices have skyrocketed, in case you haven't noticed. It's not cheap to go to the range and fire a couple of hundred rounds anymore. I am well supplied, or at least, I think I am.

I read a bulletin while at the State Police Academy just a few weeks ago and it stated that the FBI and Homeland Security are preparing to take on any extremist groups during our election period, which is already underway. I don't quite know what this means because the FBI, which works closely with HS and the DOJ have their own interpretation of phrases that they send out.

The governor of PA was on CNN this morning. He made it clear that if anyone or any group tried to disrupt the election in his state they would meet their maker or a police cell. I won’t repeat of any it, it’s a tab bit political. But he did say the FBI were there.

Going shooting tomorrow, I'm well stocked with ammo for all my weapons. I picked up a sizable quantity of .223 right before the 2013 DHS ammo buy up, which was heavily hyped, and definitely increased profits to ammo manufacturers.
I'm ready for any zombie apocalypse or civil unrest, should there not be an orderly transfer of power after the elections.
I wanted to reload a few hundred casings that I picked up at the range, but I can't find any primers for a decent price. Good ammo for my .45 is costing almost a buck a round.

I've noticed that at our local Walmart, also. We were there a couple of days ago, and I glanced at a empty gun/ammo counter. As you say, ammo prices have skyrocketed....even at normally good online locations....MidwayUSA.com, used to be about half the price of most stores, but Not anymore.

I took my firearms out a couple of weeks ago, and shot a few rounds each, then cleaned and oiled them before putting them back in the safe. I saved the used cartridges, and will do some reloading during the Winter.

I wouldn't be surprised if "civil unrest" doesn't increase in coming days/weeks. Between this virus, and this crazy election, I suspect a lot of nutcases are going to rise to the surface.

The thought of my local Asda (Walmart) selling guns in the store would horrify me. It was on the news today that guns and ammo are to be removed in Walmart USA. I once read that bank/s ( USA) were offering a gun if one opened a bank account!!???
Unfortunately gun crime is prevalent in London.

I prefer a more passive approach;)

While some of you are shooting legally at the range, I see in our local news that thugs etc are shooting & maiming or killing each other every night on our streets, in our parks. I follow news in 3 cities I used to live in& the same thing is happening there. Meanwhile the cops are shooting the mental patients whose families have called to try to get help for the individual. Women (not me) are getting permits & buying guns in record numbers basically out of fear of the unknown.
Am I the only one who thinks something is wrong with this picture?

I seriously think the thing about banks and guns is FALSE. I've never heard or seen such a thing here. Just a malicious rumor. It's ridiculous on its face.

Not so. Just Google it and you'll see that it is quite true. Same for buying a car, new siding and much, much more. 'Murica, love it or leave it!

Since I was not shooting any more, I gave all of my reloading stuff to my son. We loaded it all into a plane and flew it to him. Fortunately, nobody noticed the .50 cal ammo boxes and the wooden case from 155mm shells.
Also, there was a report on Inside Edition last night of the increase in the number of women buying guns, many for the first time.

Do you suppose people think they can shot the virus?🤣. We don’t have any guns, don’t want any guns.

My wife carries a .25 mag.

About 20 plus years ago, two US banks in rural areas gave fancy hunting rifles in lieu of interest to people who bought large certificates of deposit.

One of the banks was shown in Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine." Moore set it up to make it look like he received the gun on the spot, although in reality the bank shipped the rifle to the recipient from a secure location.

Moore is best described as a serial fabulist. He distorts things but makes it look like a documentary so people think he's telling the truth.

We do have liberal gun laws and a lot of gun-loving people in the US, but lies and exaggeration make it harder to fix things.

I think there will be an orderly transfer of power. What I'm worried about is civil unrest if the "wrong" person wins.

Just read where Walmart reversed their policy and will restock guns and ammo.

They never stopped stocking them, they just removed them from the displays. Most (50%) that carry guns and ammo are in states with large populations of hunters. Walmart has not sold handguns in years.
