Pole-dancing skeletons must be removed, HOA tells homeowner

I found it a bit “over the top,” but that gets into the fuzzy area of community standards and social decorum. An HOA can dictate almost anything that they want to, and get away with it. I once dealt with one that denied me putting up a storage shed although another one was visible from my property.

HOA's are fine to us. I have never minded taking orders. I did it for years in the Navy and many, many times at the workplace. Had an HOA where our last house was. Kept the community clean and nice looking.

Classic Rocker, you aren't bothered by HOA, but I HATE, ABHOR, and DETEST them. My ex used to live in one. You were allowed to have two cats. A HOA busybody posted a note on her door that a cat was actually seen looking out the window. GASP! Well, it's obvious why my ex is an "ex'.
Who in the hell writes a note that a cat looking out a window is a "violation"? Living there was akin to living under the Gestapo- neighbors were ratting each other for "violations". My ex got a $75 fine for mowing her lawn at 11:45 on a Sunday. Regs said you had to wait till 12:00. I found HOAs to be power hungry individuals, who are more interested in revenge, and getting back at perceived foes; rather than any semblance of creating a happy homelife.

I thought it was in poor taste, but not so much that an HOA had to get involved!

I had to laugh when the owner said she was going to take it down but decided to leave it up because she "got so much support offa Facebook". LOL.

It's just stupid, IMO.
