My old bones really feel the cold so every little bit of warmth is appreciated.

And... heavy on the "and", if you want to go full-on hide mode, you can wear a pair of these over your head to hide all, and with two eye holes already in place, aside from looking like a space Martian, they'll keep your head dry in the rain!

They are only “face diapers” if they are on “potty mouths”, who need them.
Otherwise they are a reasonable precaution.
