Am I The Only One That Does Not Like Game Of Thrones?

Likely there has been discussion on this topic before but I am new to watching the series. So far I really cannot see what was so good about the show. The story gets clouded by the sex and violence, mostly it is the graphic violence that bothers me.

But I do like two characters, the little girl Arya and Tyrion. Please tell me they don't meet the same fate of getting killed off as so many have.

I am still on season one, does it get better?

Stick with it, I like it so much I bought the series on DVD's. Arya and Tyrion don't die, you will love them more at the ending.

I tried watching the first episode and saw maybe about 7 minutes of it. Just wasn't ready to get into it at that time. Maybe someday. I already have too much to watch for now.

I almost gave up on it several times in first 3 episodes, but then I started liking some of the characters and had to see what they were up to. Its not for everyone, I didn't think I would like it but my son keep talking about so I had to see what it was about.

I can't say that I don't like it because I haven't watched it. However based on what I've heard I'm not interested in it.

I put it in the same category as zombie entertainment and horror entertainment. I just am not interested. I have so many other things I'm interested in that I don't really want to spend my time on things I'm not interested in.

One of the daughters subscribes to HBO, and one time when we were visiting, they turned this show on. I watched it, and quickly came to the conclusion that it is aimed at teenagers with a penchant for violence.

New shows with unbelievable violence, swearing & gross nudity are not my cup of tea. I'm still with Gunsmoke, The Rifleman & Rawhide. Kitty never takes off her clothes, The Rifleman never wears shorts & Rowdy Yates in Rawhide never swears.

Well all, it would seem a number of you are more up to date than myself. Still on 'bog standard tv' no Netflix etc so have no idea about the full story of Game of Thrones other than through a prog. called 'Goggle box'. The exerts and response would suggest it could be quite disturbing to some because of the sex and violence. Perhaps it will make our 'pleb screens' in the future!!!! :giggle:

Same here. I used to be a big fan of The Walking Dead, maybe I knew that it would become reality someday(in 2020!). ;)
I still watch the walking dead, and fear of the walking dead, and the new one, hmm, walking dead world beyond 🤣

I wondered what everyone was raving about so I decided to read the book. Just managed to get through the first chapter and lost interest. I read a lot of this sort of thing and there was nothing special about this one.

I don't subscribe to HBO.I knew about because it seemed to me on any given week one of the entertainment magazines would have 1-2 cast members on the cover or article inside about the show

I liked it up to the point when the show was still following the books. Once the show caught up with the books and went on it's own (last two seasons) I lost interest. The show stopped following the lore that was developed in the books.
